tvN Confirms “Resident Playbook” Premiere in April

tvN’s highly anticipated weekend drama Resident Playbook has officially sealed its premiere on April 12.

A spin-off of the beloved Hospital Playlist series, Resident Playbook follows a group of obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital as they navigate the highs and lows of their medical journey. These aspiring doctors, still grappling with self-doubt, face challenges, growth, and the occasional comedic chaos. The star-studded cast includes Go Youn Jung, Shin Si Ah, Kang You Seok, Han Ye Ji, and Jung Joon Won.

To build excitement, the production team has released a name tag poster, a comeback teaser, and a wild teaser video, offering a glimpse into the lives of these first-year residents.

A Peek into Resident Playbook

In the Name Tag Poster unveiled, the series showcases the four rookie doctors—Oh Yi-young (Go Youn Jung), Pyo Nam-kyung (Shin Si Ah), Eom Jae-il (Kang You Seok), and Kim Sa-bi (Han Ye Ji)—each with expressive ID photos that hint at their unique personalities.

Accordingly, the Comeback Teaser opens with a nostalgic nod to the original Hospital Playlist quintet before shifting focus to the new generation at Jongno Yulje Hospital. A tense moment unfolds as the residents brace themselves for their professor’s (Lee Hyun Kyun) stern scolding, while a comical scene of Oh Yi-young hiding behind a door adds a lighthearted touch.

The Wild Teaser Video captures the urgency of hospital life as the four residents bolt from their meal at the sound of an emergency call, setting the tone for their unpredictable and eventful days ahead.

The production team shared, “Through the journey of these inexperienced yet determined young doctors, we want to tell a story that resonates with anyone stepping into a new phase of life. We hope viewers will enjoy watching these characters stumble, learn, and move forward at their own pace.”
