Brace yourself for an epic battle where ancient legends awaken in the heart of a modern city, on Disney+ series, Twelve!
Twelve, Disney+’s newest Korean action-fantasy series, is set to premiere on August 23, with powerhouse actor Don Lee (Eternals, Train to Busan) taking center stage as the leader of a secret order of zodiac warriors sworn to protect humanity from a long-buried darkness.
Centuries ago, twelve guardians chosen by the signs of the zodiac fought a desperate war to save the world from malevolent spirits. Their victory came at a terrible price, sealing the evil away—but also scattering the warriors and their legacy. Fast forward to present-day Seoul: most of the world has forgotten the myth, but evil has not. As the ancient force begins to reawaken, the last remnants of the Twelve—living low-key lives and working ordinary jobs—must answer the call once more.
At the heart of this thrilling saga is Taesan (Don Lee), a no-nonsense, battle-hardened warrior who has quietly watched over humanity in the shadows. When signs of the dark force’s return emerge, Taesan sets out to reunite the remaining guardians for one final stand. Joining him is Park Hyung Sik (Buried Hearts, Soundtrack #1) as Ogwi, a mysterious being who has been sealed for over a thousand years—and whose true allegiance could shift the fate of the world.
Twelve blends fast-paced action, deep mythology, and emotionally resonant storytelling, all anchored by a stellar creative team. The series is co-written by Kim Bonghan (The Golden Holiday) and Don Lee himself, and helmed by acclaimed directors Kang Daekyu (Pawn, Harmony) and Han Yunseon (18 – Eighteen Noir). With a story that spans past and present, myth and reality, the show promises to deliver not just spectacle, but heart.
For fans of rich Korean storytelling, fantasy worldbuilding, and unforgettable heroes, Twelve is a must-watch. It joins Disney+’s growing lineup of premium Korean dramas, including this year’s record-breaking Nine Puzzles, action-thrillers like A Shop for Killers and Hyper Knife, and the critically acclaimed Moving.
The countdown to war begins. The zodiac warriors rise again — in Twelve, only on Disney+, starting August 23.
