Capturing a vibrant 18-year-old young woman, Kim Tae Ri shines brightly in Twenty Five Twenty One character stills.
The series traces stories of young romance and friendship in the backdrop of the turbulent East Asian Financial Crisis in 1998. Twenty Five Twenty One gives a wistful tap to nostalgic memories in the perspectives of five young people who thought they would never be apart.
Accordingly, Twenty-five Twenty-one is a collaboration between writer Kwon Do-eun and director Jung Ji Hyun. They are recognized for a realistic and emotional screenplay as well as detailed and polished orchestration. Their combined works include Search WWW, The King Eternal Monarch and You Are My Spring.
Kim Tae Ri takes on the role of Na Hee-do, a high school fencing dreamer who has lost her team due to the IMF crisis. She is a person full of energy. Relentlessly running towards her dream despite failures and frustrations, she is a motivated youth dead set to her goals.
In the revealed character stills, Na Hee-do is seen practicing some fencing moves while garbed in her school uniform. Even without a fencing weapon, she is seen with a determined look with her arms outstretched in the air.
For her latest project, Kim Tae Ri shared she was drawn to the series with its interesting story. She adds how the texture and color of Hee-do as a character is something she hasn’t met before, thus she became gravitated to it. Likewise, she was also attracted to explore an unfamiliar sport which is fencing.
Meanwhile, the production team has only warm words for the effort and diligence of the actress. Describing her growth from a fencing dreamer going through a slump, she is driven to still pursue her dream. She always walks forward and is not afraid because she has a dream.
