Decking his drama comeback, Nam Joo Hyuk transforms into a fallen young master of a rich household during the IMF crisis. Thereafter, he becomes a reporter.
Portraying the role of Baek Yi-jin in Twenty-Five Twenty-One, the actor is set to traverse the growth of his character whose dreams have been deprived in the late 90s era.
The series traces stories of young romance and friendship in the backdrop of the turbulent East Asian Financial Crisis in 1998. Twenty Five Twenty One gives a wistful tap to nostalgic memories in the perspectives of five young people who thought they would never be apart.
Accordingly, Twenty-five Twenty-one is a collaboration between writer Kwon Do-eun and director Jung Ji Hyun. They are recognized for a realistic and emotional screenplay as well as detailed and polished orchestration. Their combined works include Search WWW, The King Eternal Monarch and You Are My Spring.
In the released character stills, Nam Joo Hyuk is seen struggling to make the ends meet through odd jobs. While working part-time at a book rental show, he also delivers newspapers.
The realistic character Baek Yi-jin, who fiercely fought for a living, is drawing attention to how his character progresses in the story.
Sharing his reason for his appearance in the series, Nam asserts how the story is something that everyone can enjoy together.
“Twenty-Five Twenty-One’ is a drama in which young people who have been deprived of their dreams in this era suffer and grow together. To comfort and strengthen each other.”
In addition, Nam also revealed a glimpse of his personal belief, “Sometimes I make mistakes, but if there is something I have to do, I have to do it well.”
