Wavve’s original drama, Weak Hero Class 1 is gearing up for its premiere on November 18.
Along with fascinating teasers unveiled, Weak Hero also presented the three main leads that would decorate the story.
Directed and written by Yoon So-min, the series depicts the journey of a young man with a brilliant mind who fights against numerous violence with his two friends. It provides an action-growth drama about a weak young man.
Notably, at the 27th Busan International Film Festival, it has been evaluated as a perfect well-made work in story, direction, acting, and music. Thus, it is considered one of the most anticipated works in the second half of the year.
Suiting up as the main character of the series Yeon Si-eun is Park Jihoon. Si-eun fights violence to survive in a jungle-like school.
Correspondingly, the released teaser posters showing the actor evoke an overwhelming presence different from the actor’s previous roles.
His warm eyes are at the same time indifferent inviting viewers to his stories. Additionally, another photo of him holding a brick with a wounded lip emanate the pain and sadness of his character.
Praised by the production team for his sincere immersion, Wavve promises Park Jihoon fans would see his tremendous talent in his newest venture. Subsequently, the character photos released delineate the expressive emotions of Si-eun as a student braving the harsh student life.
Next, Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of Ahn Su-ho, a free spirit. He has no interest in school life other than to graduate safely because it’s his promise to his cherished grandmother.
Honest and uninhibited, he gets curious about Si-eun’s fight against school violence and approached him to join his cause without hesitation.
The actor describes his character as a “fighter of loyalty” and explains why he chose the work as well as Su-ho’s charms.
“It’s a work that deals with conflicts that can happen in real life, and it’s my first action, so I wanted to try it. Suho’s only goal is to graduate safely. He works part-time every day and almost always sleeps at school. That’s why he carries a pillow to sleep more comfortably.”
Rounding up the lead cast, Hong Kyung plays the role of Oh Beom-seok. Appearing to be timid, he became friends with Si-eun and his life changed dramatically. Notably, Wavve lauds the actor for his cleverness and excellent ability to explore roles and interpret works.
Describing his role, the actor affirms his hard work in bringing life to his complex character and the reason why he participated in Weak Hero.
“As I read the script, I thought that it contained the things that we could feel as we passed through that period. I discovered those points and wanted to participate. Beom-seok is also the person who experiences the biggest emotional change in this work.”
