Welcome to Samdalri traverses the long connection shared by Jo Yong-pil (Ji Chang Wook) and Jo Sam-dal (Shin Hye Sun).
The two have a long history of friendship. They were born in Jeju, five minutes apart on the same day.
From then on, they attended the same school from elementary to college. The Polaroid photos look into the history of the close friends. They also share smiles and affection with each other’s families.
However, their inseparable connection came to a pause. Yong-pil decides to stay in their hometown but Sam-dal pursues a new life in Seoul.

As a successful photographer, Sam-dal takes the name Jo Eun-hye. When her career plummeted at one point, she returned to her hometown, Gaecheon.
Samdal thought that her hometown was too small to accommodate her, so she turned into a dragon and flew away. After moving to Seoul, she learned her dream of doing photography in earnest and endured eight years of difficult work as an assistant in the infamous fashion photography world. Eventually, she finally reached the top position she had longed for.
The still cuts released by the production team capture the work site where the top photographer’s ‘professional beauty’ stands out. The professionalism of a top photographer is fully conveyed in the sharp gaze that captures a moment, the precise timing of pressing the shutter, the seriousness with which she constantly agonizes over the perfect work, and the leisure that radiates from her skills.
She waits for the moment when the subject is perfect and presses the camera shutter, and there is not a single cut to be wasted in her photos. However, an unexpected event happens to Sam-dal, who is at the peak of his career. As a result, she falls from the tower she worked so hard to build overnight and goes down to Samdal-ri, a place she never wanted to return to, with her body and mind completely ruined. Unlike the hectic pace of Seoul, Sam-dal will be able to catch her breath in a place filled with clean energy and relaxation.
In this way, Shin Hye Sun plays the role of Jo Sam-dal, and returns to the small screen wearing the best clothes, equipped with humanity, honesty, confidence, and loveliness.
