KBS2’s new midweek series, Who is She has unveiled its vibrant character posters, building anticipation for its December 18 premiere.
This heartwarming and humorous series is a modern retelling of the beloved film Miss Granny, promising a fresh take on the classic story of a grandmother who magically transforms into her younger self.
Who is She is a music-themed coming-of-age drama that follows the story of Oh Mal-soon, a grandmother who unexpectedly transforms into her 20-year-old self, Oh Du-ri, reigniting her dream of becoming a singer and reliving her golden days.
Kim Hae Sook stars as Oh Mal-soon, a spirited grandmother who gets an unexpected second chance at youth. In her transformed state as Oh Du-ri, played by Jung Ji So, she carries an air of mystery and charm that captivates everyone around her. Jung Jinyoung takes on the role of Daniel Han, a producer at an entertainment company, whose relationship with both Mal-soon and Du-ri is central to the story.
Accordingly, the released trio poster features Kim Hae-sook, Jung Ji-so, and Jin-young, with the Chinese character 春 (Chun), symbolizing “youth,” prominently stamped on their faces.
The stark contrast between Kim Hae-sook and Jung Ji-so’s expressions—both appearing shocked as if caught in a jaw-dropping moment—and Jin-young’s confident smirk draws attention. The tagline, “You can make even a tin can like me a top singer, but you’re not even that confident?” hints at a compelling relationship between Daniel, the Entertainment producer, and the duo of Mal-soon and Du-ri, promising a mix of humor and tension.
Mal-soon and Du-ri poster bursts with youthful energy, showcasing the contrasting yet connected lives of Mal-soon as a 70-year-old grandmother and Du-ri as her youthful alter ego. The playful line, “Do I look like a grandmother or a young lady to you?” adds intrigue, reflecting the character’s dual nature and the hilarity that ensues from her transformation.
Du-ri and Daniel poster show the lead couple come face-to-face in an intimate and charged moment, with the phrase, “You’re the first person who’s more delicious than me,” adding a layer of mystery and romantic tension. Jung Ji-so’s deep, story-filled eyes and Jin-young’s icy, confident gaze complement their stunning visuals, hinting at a close yet unpredictable connection between the two characters.
Adapted from the hit movie Miss Granny, Who is She takes the beloved story to new heights, with expanded character arcs and fresh dynamics. Kim Hae-sook brings heart and humor to Mal-soon, a grandmother embracing her second youth, while Jung Ji-so captures Du-ri’s vibrant spirit and layered emotions. Jin-young’s Daniel Han, a sharp and charismatic producer, ties the narrative together with his connection to both versions of the protagonist.
Viewers are eager to see how the drama will reinterpret and expand on the original film’s themes of second chances and self-discovery. The unique relationships hinted at in the posters have only heightened anticipation for the drama’s premiere. With its colorful characters, engaging storyline, and lively music, Suspicious Girl is shaping up to be a must-watch series.
