SBS shares character stills and sketches of Hwang In Youp for the legal-romance drama Why Her.
Why Her chronicles the story of Oh Soo Jae, played by Seo Hyun Jin, a competitive and self-driven lawyer. She desires to be part of the nation’s best lawyers in the most prestigious law office, TK Law Firm.
However, a case that Soo Jae is taking care of shifts her life 180 degrees. She is forced to teach in a law school where she met Gong Chan (Hwang In Youp), whom she shares a mysterious past with.
The rising actor shares his first impression and why he accepted his character, Gong Chan.
“When I first saw the work, it was so fresh and intense that I couldn’t forget it. After reading the script, the story of Oh Soo Jae and Gong Chan came as a sad but beautiful story. In this work, I think I can show another aspect [of my acting skills] with a more mature character.”
He then shares a bit of his character story and personality that raises expectations.
“Mr. Gong Chan said that he was hurt by events in the past. Nevertheless, he is an imposing and wonderful character who does not have crooked or negative thoughts and always wants to live the world in a positive and right direction. Finally, I tried hard to understand the character of Gong Chan itself. I tried to feel the sympathy of Gong Chan while reading the script several times.”
In the character stills, Hwang In Youp was able to express his character’s various emotions. He perfectly communicates sadness, enthusiasm, and happiness through the eyes of Gong Chan.
Also, the actor is known for his roles as the second main lead in True Beauty and 18 Again, in which Hallyu fans wishes him to have a happy ending in his future projects.
