Cells collaborate to overcome Yumi’s routine life without romance in the latest teasers of Yumi’s Cells.
TVING’s original series, Yumi’s Cells is a compassionate cell-stimulating romance that follows the everyday life of Yumi as she eats, loves, and lives with her cells.
Director Lee Sang Yeob remarks the series is a “delightful and lovely drama about the ordinary office worker Yumi and her cells, creating each day in a pleasant and loving way.”
Additionally, he implies Yumi’s journey of love and growth is graceful navigation through the dramatic moments of everyday life.
Previously, the lead pair were introduced through the special cells in their heads which enhance both of their personalities.
There are different cells that represent Yumi’s mood, including love cells, which are prime cells that represent people; reason cells, which control Yumi’s thoughts and emotion cells which represent her feelings.
On the contrary, Ku Woong’s cells are also endowed with an imposing personality, like the hair cells, who are solely responsible for Ku Woong’s looks; the training cells, who are dedicated to perfecting his talents, and the love cells, who wear a charming heart above their heads.
A Day in the life of Yumi
The main trailer opens with Yumi, a professional worker, going about her regular routine.
Despite being engaged in boring work life, a junior officemate (cameo by Choi Min Ho) makes her heart pounds. Weighing her options if their timing is right, she continuously bangs her head on the desk.
Fortunately, her cells mobilize in order to rescue Yumi, who had spent the previous three years on a horrific leisurely weekend.
The emotional cells, who had tears welling up in their eyes looked at Yumi, who appeared to be having another alone weekend.
“I have to do something regardless.”
The rational cell also concurs with the emotional cell.
“I can not continue living in this state indefinitely.”
It piques viewers’ interest as to how the tears of the cells wishing to convey the romance to the lonely Yumi will unfold.
Ku Woong’s identity (Ahn Bo-hyun) also adds another layer of intrigue, motivating the cells to help bring Yumi and him together.
Yumi’s Cells, a TVING original, will premiere concurrently on TVING and tvN on the 17th of September at 10:50 p.m. International fans can watch it on iQiyi.
