Castaway Diva Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights
Previously, Mok-ha was elated to receive flowers possibly from Ki-ho only to discover that his father lured her. Ran-joo confronts the reality that the man she trusted can get as evil as he can be.
“No one is deceitful or cowardly because they want to be. We all become desperate and make choices for our own reasons.”
Bo-geol helps Mok-ha escape Ki-ho’s father. She argues with Bo-geol when he chides her for being mindless but she emotionally and vocally expresses her longing to find her friend.
Contemplating her options, Ran-joo asked for help from President Hwang, her old music teacher who also discovered her to help re-release her old albums. However, the old guy wants her to sing for his daughter’s wedding first. Later, she also takes her frustration on Mok-ha.
On the wedding day, Mok-ha convinces Ran-joo they can do a duet and they delight the attendees. Seo-jun also makes a move to offer stocks to President Hwang intent to stop Ran-joo’s possible reemergence.
Meanwhile, Woo-hak also investigates Ki-ho’s father. It led to his discovery of a family picture bearing his young face. Bo-geol who follows his brother to where he is heading confessed to why they changed their names after he lost his memory.
Bo-geol responds to how Woo-hak’s desire to fight their abusive father could destroy the peace of the family they found with their stepfather.
The pep talk seeps into Woo-hak’s system so he also decides to give Mok-ha closure in finding Ki-ho by giving the USB stick bearing Mok-ha’s audition video. Unknown to him, Mok-ha is already suspicious because his mother said the same quote about wishing earnestly.
Happy that her albums will be relaunched by President Hwang, Ran-joo promises to promote well.
“Enough with the lies now. I get you had good intentions and had no other choice. But a lie is a lie. If you keep it up. Your weakness will grow and you’ll have to stay silent. And eventually, it’ll be out of control.”
Seo-jun summons Eun Mo-rae to help deal with Ran-joo’s comeback attempt and agrees to appear at Heyday Again. Prior to the broadcast, a meeting was held and Mo-rae’s manager who also had a video recording of Mok-ha as Ran-joo’s real voice uses it to silence Mok-ha.
Finding time to speak with his father, Woo-hak confessed to regaining his memory. He asks how they got their fake names but his father refuses to respond.
On D-Day of Hey Again with Mo-rae and Ran-joo; the main PD unfortunately had a medical emergency so Bo-geol takes the lead.
He huddles the artist declaring they will sing live which Mo-rae found annoying. She walks out as expected of her arrogance. However, Bo-geol also tells Ran-joo and Mok-ha they can also no longer do lip-synch. He gives a pep talk that the lie they are doing could snowball into something uncontrollable.
Castaway Diva Episodes 5 and 6 Musings
What a pretty cliffhanger! We missed the regular serving of stage music this week but Castaway Diva looks ahead to a superb development as it hit the midpoint of the series.
It looks like Ran-joo might find a way to pave a unique and different way for Mok-ha to debut. It’s hard not to root for Mok-ha and Ran-joo battling manipulative Seo-jun.
This week also teaches humbling moments that anyone can go through. A perfect example is how Ran-joo realizes the old agency manager who discovered her is still willing to help her despite the treatment she gave to him.
Kang brothers eventually need to deal with their biological father’s ruthless and unredeemable actions. Hopefully, it would not be too heartbreaking.
Be inspired by Mok-ha’s story of pursuing dreams in Castaway Diva. International fans can watch it on Netflix!
