Castaway Diva Episodes 3 and 4 Highlights

Remembering Seo Mok-ha, the fan whom young Ki-ho pleaded Ran-joo once to hug and help if ever she met her, the singer finally fulfilled that wish, 15 years later.

Ran-joo’s performance at the festival also went viral and the production team of “Heyday Again” is really eager to have her in the show. However, per Seo-jun’s instruction to the team, they refused the request.

She also ends up carpooling with Mok-ha and Woo-hak and even stays on the rooftop house with Mok-ha. Celebrating their small win, they gobbled the wine given at the event and party a lot. When she wakes up the next day, Ran-joo meets the Kang brothers’ parents who it turns out also joined the party last night.

It also dawns on her how she made a promise to have Mok-ha participate in an audition.

“You said she’s 31. You know that singers tend to age quickly. We double their age these days. A trainee in her 60s just doesn’t make sense.”

On the day of the audition, Mok-ha gets a reality check overhearing Seo-jun’s words that Mok-ha becoming a trainee singer is impossible. Hiding her pain, Mok-ha intervenes in the conversation and accepts Ran-joo’s manager role.

Back at the time when they drank the Deokdo wine, Ran-joo mentioned how selling 20 million albums would make her secure a 50% share of RJ Entertainment, the company that Ran-joo signed with when she decided not to renew her contract 15 years ago. Mok-ha saw through Seo-jun’s fear that it might come true so he has been making all efforts for Ran-joo not to gain her star power again.

Mok-ha with the help of the Kang brothers computed all the albums Ran-joo sold so far and gets the figure that would help her secure half of the share at RJ Entertainment. From there, Mok-ha will proceed with her plan to audition.

Learning Mok-ha is now Ran-joo’s manager, Woo-hak proposes the show and inks Ran-joo’s appearance. Mok-ha also learns that Ran-joo’s song, “One Night”, speaks about young Ki-ho’s sincere love for his friend Mok-ha.

When Ran-joo met young Ki-ho she was moved by his desperate request for his friend that’s why she created a song about it. She decided to sing it to send a message to Ki-ho.

“I was hungry. I knew they were not regular chestnuts. But I end up believing they are chestnuts. When you’re very desperate, you become a total fool.”

Chiding his younger brother on how he treats Mok-ha, Woo-hak reminds Bo-geol of how he needs to be patient for things that she can have and adapt to overnight. Instead of eating with him, he goes to see Mok-ha. They talk about Ki-ho and Woo-hak reassures her that his friend could have suffered the same fate as he has that’s why he hasn’t met him yet.

Another desperate man who has been looking for his son is Ki-ho’s father who later got hold of a business card that could be from one of the Kang brothers.

On D-Day of “Heyday Again” featuring Ran-joo, she receives gifts from Seo-jun whom Mok-ha labeled “poisonous”. She tells her that horse chestnuts appear like regular ones and she has eaten those during the times she can’t eat anything on the island. Ran-joo got the message and set aside all the gifts.

Impressing the crowd, Ran-joo again made an astounding performance with the help of Mok-ha. Her performance becomes the talk of the town as well.

When she meets Seo-jun later, she attempts to be intimate with him. But he expresses feeling bad about her. He reveals that her goal to sell her albums will not go as planned as he has ordered a recall for her albums online and offline.

Woo-hak receives flowers meant for Mok-ha and they thought it was from Ki-ho. On the day, Mok-ha was supposed to meet Ki-ho, it was Ki-ho’s father who showed up. Simultaneously, Woo-hak gets flashes of memories showing how Ki-ho was abused by his father. He rushes to go to where Mok-ha is.

Mok-ha runs for her life when she recognizes the man staring at her. Someone drags her to escape and when they evade Ki-ho’s father, she stares back at Bo-geol’s eyes who surprisingly is there.

Castaway Diva

Castaway Diva Episodes 3 and 4 Musings

Making sure there are no wasted scenes or intentions in the narrative, Castaway Diva duplicated its stellar opening with new engrossing chapters that unfold the story even more.

Previously, the story suggested how Ki-ho’s mother ran away and with Woo-hak’s flashes of memories being returned, either young Ki-ho reunited with his mom when he had an accident or he met Bo-gul’s family who figured out his situation and genuinely protected him. True, Bo-geol’s actions are confusing us so better not jump to conclusion yet.

Just in its second week but Park Eun Bin has really charmed and impressed viewers with how she has performed the featured songs so far. The lyrics of the songs also aligned well with how the narrative is panning out so far. She is really the definition of smart and committed acting.

On the horizon, we see Mok-ha and Ran-joo working on selling the albums. It’s no easy feat because Seo-jun is the Goliath they have to defeat. Moreover, Ki-ho’s identity is also expected to be revealed at one point.

Ultimately, Mok-ha’s dream of becoming a singer would be the final stop of the expected colorful journey of our favorite “castaway diva”.

Be inspired by Mok-ha’s story of pursuing dreams in Castaway Diva. International fans can watch it on Netflix!
