Crash Course In Romance Episode 13 Highlights
Haeng-seon’s reservations towards Dong-hee escalate when she realized he intentionally hurt her while he was navigating Chi-yeol’s private yacht.
Her niece Hae-yi is also caught in a dilemma after being served by Sun-jae with some test papers for review that also appeared in their exam.
“Someone killed that person. I am a witness.”
About to strike Haeng-seon, Dong-hee halts as Chi-yeol arrives bringing something sweet for his woman. At the trial attended by Hui-jae, he also makes a confession that he did not commit the murder and instead admits that he is a witness to the murder.
Later, when his mother inquires why he did not reveal what really happened, Hui-jae responds that she also suspected her like the detectives from the start.
After the exam, Hae-yi tries to reach Sun-jae who was only given further stressors by his mother who did not flinch in helping her son cheat on the subject he struggles with.
Agreeing to a Math camp proposed by Director Kang, Chi-yeol went home and finds his place too cold because of the broken thermostat. He uses it to his advantage and goes to his girlfriend’s house to stay the night.
Dragged by Jae-woo to his room, Chi-yeol is forced to put him to sleep so he can go to Haeng-seon’s room. In the morning, they were able to hide they slept together in front of Jae-yi. But Chi-yeol has to make up a brotherhood pact with Jae-woo who knew he went missing somewhere in the night.
“Where could Hae-yi be?”
Before Chi-yeol leaves for work, he showed the photos and videos Dong-hee took. Noticing there were no waves, Haeng-seon sees another red flag.
So, when she brought food for Chi-yeol’s team and forgot to give the wipes to Dong-hee, she caught him on the spot throwing the food she just gave inside the trash can.
Sun-jae is still refusing to confront Hae-yi, she ends up talking to Sun-jae’s mom who pleads for her to turn a blind eye to it as it will cause problems for a lot of people. Revealing she submitted her exam paper blank; she apologized to Sun-jae’s mom and relays she will come clean about it.
On her way home, Haeng-seon calls to ask her to get an extra-large garbage bag. However, she did not go home until past midnight which prompted Haeng-seon to seek the police’s help.
They also learn about her submission of blank paper on the reading exam which is her strongest subject.
Unknown to them, running away from someone, a car bumped into her. Among the people in the crowd of her accident is Dong-hee.
Crash Course In Romance Episode 13 Musings
Flagging the disappointing extent overachieving mothers can do for their children’s education is one of the most significant takeaways in this episode of Crash Course In Romance.
In fact, it has been a recurring lesson in almost the entire series. Both Sun-jae and Su-a are on the brink of losing themselves because of their mothers. It shows the disappointing faces of mothers who prioritize achievement over their children’s well-being and mental health.
It also sheds light on how children with these types of mothers are put under pressure, still, they have to own up to their choices and not completely blame them for being obedient. The moment a child refuses to communicate well with a parent, it will inevitably put a toll on the child’s mental health.
From there, it will be hard to pinpoint what caused the child to be resolute in thinking the parent can’t help them because there could have been events in the past that were overlooked when they subtly or openly asked for help.
In contrast, Hae-yi’s action to pass a blank paper is commendable. It shows her admirable upbringing and conviction to always choose the right. It also serves as a cushion for her in case the midterm exam leak will be discovered.
Seeing Dong-hee emotionless staring at the unconscious Hae-yi, we can deduce that he is the one chasing after her.
Now that Haeng-seon affirmed the two faces Dong-hee keeps switching in front of her, this concern is sure to haunt her relationship with Chi-yeol.
Can Hae-yi survive her plight and bring to light the exam leak? Will Chi-yeol finally see the true color of his assistant?
