Delivery Man Episode 6 Highlights
Picking up from the last episode, Young-min and Ji-hyun get a wish from Ha-jun who is looking for his missing sister, Ha-yul. Ji-hyun’s uncanny knack for deduction leads to the right path in decoding the mystery of Ha-yul’s disappearance.
First tracing the girl closest to Ha-yul, Young-min ends up talking to a group of friends who seem to be awkward with each other and hiding something.
Meanwhile, Young-min’s grandmother also learns about the mortgage problem of their house and offers to sell an expensive plant to help her grandson.
At the hospital, Dr. Do is keeping an eye on Kim Jung-woo for his baffling actions. His suspicions seem to be true as the report he asked for reveals the deaths at the ER quadrupled since he joined the hospital.
“These two knew each other and both die on the same day.”
Detective Ji figures Ji-hyun and Young-min’s mom knew each other. Unfortunately, they also sadly departed on the same day. The detectives also round up three people working at Daehun Hospital’s ER to be related to the cases they are working on.
Continuing their investigation, Young-min and Ji-hyun manage to have Ga-eun ride the cab. But just as they almost break what she’s been holding, Mi-ra the queen bee calls and directs her to lead Young-min to a place where three bullies await him.
Ga-eun rushes to find help and stops the car of Detective Ji and his partner. Young-min who protects the phone that keeps Ji-hyun alive is rescued. She chides him for being thoughtless but he reasons that he needed to protect the phone because he doesn’t like her to vanish.
“Liking me won’t give you a future or bring you joy. I will only break your heart.”
Later, guilt pushes Ga-eun to confess what happened that day. Young-min and Ji-hyun look for Ha-yul on the mountain. Fortunately, she survived the ordeal.
Young-min confesses to Ji-hyun that he likes her. But she already learns from Sin-woo that if she falls in love with a human, she will also be liberated from her grudge. Wanting to retrieve her memories, she tells Young-min not to pursue what he’s feeling.
Still, she accompanies Young-min to Namsan Tower to hang a love lock. There they meet Dr. Do and So-ri. Suddenly, Ji-hyun remembers Dr. Do treating her previously.
Delivery Man Episode 6 Musings
Given a few baffling scenarios relating to Ji-hyun’s and Young-min’s mother’s death; the latter’s confession seals the expected burden to be tackled in the series.
Crossing the middle mark, Ji-hyun’s cryptic death is getting more enlightenment. As it appears to be related to Young-min’s mother’s death, the two cases most likely would be resolved right after one another or simultaneously.
Ji-hyun’s reservation about Young-min’s “I like you” pitch is warranted. She knows the moment she entertains the same feeling; she would lose the chance to get to the bottom of her death. She also understands her situation that as much as she wants to return Young-min’s affection
How the series would pitch a happy and real closure is something for the audience to anticipate.
By showing more screen time to the main characters at Daehun Hospital’s ER, the series moves to the possibility that would complete the puzzle in the story.
