Delivery Man Episode 7 and 8 Highlights

Ji-hyun and Young-min learn that Dr. Do encountered the former as his patient in the last episode of Our Blooming Youth. From there, they try to get information about her family.

“I have to hide my feelings and affections for her. I must do it for her sake.”

However, the detectives decline their request to get her family’s information. Sympathizing with Ji-hyun, he tries to get information from Cheongdam Shaman.

At first, the latter was furious knowing Young-min is smitten, but later he realizes it is for the better since pure love can also emancipate and send Ji-hyun to where she belongs.

Young-min realizes why Ji-hyun strongly refused his love confession and musters the strength to not nurture what he feels for the sake of Ji-hyun.

“Watching those newlyweds at the ER made me realize something. No matter how much you love each other, one day, you will be separated.”

Finding time to get hold of Ji-hyun’s family, Young-min visited the private investigator who was previously asked by Ji-hyun’s father about the photos he has related to Ji-hyun. Still, the investigator refuses to share the information Young-min wants.

He tries his luck with his friend So-ri, but he still did not get any information. While at the hospital, they meet a resident ghost who asks if they can help find his daughter.

They head to visit the police station where the ghost knows Kang Hyun-soo, Ji-hyun’s father. However, they still did not get his information, so Young-min left his contact number.

Later, Ji-hyun brought up she understands Young-min’s action of leaving the phone in the house is his way of protecting her. She also realized that he knows they cannot nurture the mutual feelings they have for each other because she has to uncover the mystery of her death first.

Confessing a realization of how genuine love cannot assure lovers of being together. If it is difficult for two living people, how much more could be between them?

She asks if it’s okay that he stays by her side. He responds he will for as long as it can be and seals it with a kiss.

“Spending a lot of money doesn’t necessarily bring you happiness. I’m happy enough right now.”

Starting their first day in a relationship, Young-min maps out an ideal first date. But Ji-hyun wins by going to a scenic spot near the Han River knowing they cannot afford to waste money.

They both realize that her falling in love did not trigger her to move on. Both having mutual doubts, they end up on an unhappy note on their first date.

Receiving a phone call from Detective Kang Hyung-soo, Young-min meets him with Ji-hyun and the ajussi they met at the hospital. They learn the daughter he’s looking for is holding a seminar. Thus, they take the opportunity to meet her.

Strangely, at the meeting, Ji-hyun’s heart breaks not knowing she’s actually meeting her father.

Meanwhile, the police can’t secure a search warrant for Kim Jung-woo. Later, they found his motorcycle abandoned somewhere.

His girlfriend who has been murdered seeks Young-min and Ji-hyun’s help and they end up at his house where they saw cryptic photos.

Delivery Man Episode 7 and 8 Musings

Delivery Man dumped quite a few plot twists in the 4th week that open clearer possibilities.

First, Ji-hyun’s true love-liberating status did not work because she’s currently in a coma, and is just a wandering ghost. For a happy-ending preparation, this is a great development. Nonetheless, if it does not work out, at least we are prepared.

Honestly, we’ve reconciled the love impossibility to happen between them. Hence, the sliver of hope that romance between Ji-hyun and Young-min can work out is a sweet treat for fans of the show.

The complicated guessing game of who the real culprits are involve Jung-woo, Dr. Do and nurse Hee-yeon. More revelations are expected to unfold in the next episodes. But Dr. Do’s traumatic past shared by Hee-yeon suggests a red flag.

Jung-woo’s intriguing photos and the deep connection between Dr. Do and Hee-yeon are obviously linked to Ji-hyun and Young-min’s mom’s cases.

Take the backseat of Young-min’s taxi as he fulfills the wishes of spirit passengers in Delivery Man!
