Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 11 Highlights
Taking a high-stake divorce case, Sung-han begins his premeditated goal of giving his cherished sister the justice she deserved.
Representing Madam Ma against Chairman Seo, it’s a winner-take-all as his opponents are bent on getting the most favorable outcome.
“I have no one left by my side.”
In a flashback, the conversation shared by Yeong-ju and Ju-hwa was revealed.
Yeong-ju proudly asserts that Ju-hwa should disappear from their life as she and her daughter had already occupied the house.
Pleading she only wants her son, Yeong-ju pushes more hurtful words which led to Ju-hwa’s aimless traipse and unfortunate accident of being hit by a small truck.
At present, Ki-yeong pours out his sad, restricted life. Too sad that he is happy being stuck in traffic because it would be more time for him to be away from home.
Knowing the driver who genuinely cares for him leaving, Sung-han feels his heart breaking.
Abiding by the law, he tells his nephew that for now, he has to still go home until he can figure out what needs to be done.
After eating dinner at the ramyun shop, Sung-han sends him home. But Ki-yeong runs back to get more embrace from his uncle.
Knowing their friend needs company, Hyung-geun and Jung-sik go to his place. In the morning Sung-han shares Ki-yeong’s problem.
Mr. Jung meets Madam Ma and relays his concern about Ki-yeong. When he told Yeong-ju about Ki-yeong’s binge eating, Yeong-ju cut him off.
Working over the weekend, Sung-han read enormous books in preparation for his case.
Meanwhile, Attorney Park demands Yeong-ju a coffee franchise when she confronts him about meeting Jung-sik. He reminds her that if not for Jung-sik she would have not made her repulsive victory against Ju-hwa.
“That phone call. Has it never occurred to you that I might have overheard it?”
Deliberating his options, Sung-han meets Madam Ma to relay he is quitting the case. Seo-jin who sensed he needs someone to talk encouraged him to proceed with what he wanted to do earnestly.
She assures him that even if it is hard, the fact that he pulled off a hard-to-win case like hers means there’s a possibility.
Madam Ma meets her son and Yeong-ju about Ki-yeong’s situation and tells them to let his uncle raise him.
Questioning why her mother-in-law obviously dislikes her, Madam Ma’s insinuation of knowing the harsh words she told Ju-hwa put her in place. Still, Ki-yeong’s father refuses his mother’s advice.
Sung-han meets Mr. Jung and learns how Yeong-ju ignored what the driver told about Ki-yeong. Feeling bad about his nephew, he thanked Mr. Jung for the information.
“Are you incapable of filtering your words before you say it?”
Jung-sik who has been missing his office turns out to be tailing the car driving Ki-yeong. It leads to him being questioned as a stalker.
Yeong-ju asks for a few minutes to speak with Sung-han and helplessly blabs how desperate Sung-han is to get Ki-yeong like his sister. She also points out how he made her mother-in-law demand for a ridiculous amount of share that she does not deserve.
Sung-han asks if the same rude way she just talked to him is how she spoke with his sister. He tells her that her words are like daggers that can rip someone to pieces.
Furious for being told about her abysmal attitude, Yeong-ju gets enraged but Sung-han just quietly walked away from her.
Finally understanding Madam Ma’s recent actions of securing money, Sung-han meets her to affirm if she’s doing it for Ki-yeong. He thinks Madam Ma does not want Yeong-ju to get it.
Madam Ma confirms his theory and reasons why he really needs to win the case. She also genuinely tells how she’s doing everything for Ki-yeong because she’s Ju-hwa’s son and she has truly liked her as her daughter-in-law.
All motivated to play the courtroom game now that he understands the full weight of it, Sung-han and friends visit Ki-yeong to formally tell him that he will represent his case.
Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 11 Musings
A few significant conversations draw the missing clues that we’ve been waiting for in Divorce Attorney Shin.
Typically, the messy chaebol family life is depicted in melodramas as a taxing and evil feast.
Admirably, the approach of the series delved into the reality that there are insanely evil-minded people that cannot be warranted to be understood.
Highlighting the emotional stress children feel with step-parents who are controlling and not nurturing; Ki-yeong’s pain attests to the real truth that divorce will always be painful for the children.
More so, if they cannot receive heartfelt care and love from the step-parent.
As an annoying textbook villain, Yeong-ju’s greed and motivation hopefully get quelled when she confronts her failure.
Seo-jin and Attorney Choi’s pro bono case was also highlighted in this episode. Additionally, we’re hoping to see Seo-jin return to her passion fully, even if she has to leave the law office.
So, it’s going to be a packed final episode tonight.
What missing piece we need to know is Seo Jeong-guk’s side of the divorce story. Hopefully, he’ll achieve a redeeming moment for being a pushover.
Attorney Park will also be put to test on whether he can provide a reparatory choice that would help Sung-han. If he remains remorseless, it would also make sense.
Immersed in stories of divorce, friendship, and personal goals in Divorce Attorney Shin. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
