Divorce Attorney Shin

Divorce Attorney Shin Episodes 7 and 8 Highlights

The missing puzzle piece unfolded last week in Divorce Attorney Shin.

It was the current wife of his sister’s ex-husband Yeong-ju who last called Ju-hwa before she died.

“I hope you can try making a different choice. When we make our own choices, we may finally become happy.”

Visiting Attorney Park, Sung-han hints at cryptic words about his sister’s death. He right away reports to Young-ju who sent a hard-to-win case about an abusive man whose Vietnamese wife and child have been sheltered by an organization.

Geum Hwa Law Firm represents the wife in the case while Sung-han took the man’s case.

Meanwhile, the woman with diagnosed schizophrenia which Seo-jin spoke with, unfortunately, tried to commit suicide. She rushes to the hospital with Attorney Choi to check her condition.

Her parents are surprised to learn of her divorce consultation and they have a different stand on whether their daughter should go through it or not.

Empathizing with her pain Seo-jin reassures her to not close the doors so that she can still be happy.

“Why did I bring myself to this path where I would only break my heart?”

Picking on the trap that Yeong-ju set, Sung-han faced a predicament with her bold move to make his client look bad in the eyes of the public.

Despite being told by her father-in-law to not be too hung up on Ju-hwa, Yeong-ju proceeds in asserting disconnection from any trace of her husband’s dead wife. She also drops a hint that her mother-in-law has been frequently meeting Sung-han.

He convinces his client to bring back his honor by proving he’s not an old man who bought and abused a young foreign woman.

Sung-han also warns that the case would be messier but he will help bring his honor back. Using Seo-jin’s radio connection, he heightens the growing attention on the case which Yeong-ju didn’t like at all.

Learning his client’s wife could have had an affair, Sung-han uses it as his trump card. At the hearing, he only asked his client’s wife just one question, and it rattled her.

Divorce Attorney Shin Episodes 7 and 8 Musings

Sung-han’s mission in Divorce Attorney Shin stems from the love he has for his sister he thinks he failed to protect. Now that viewers can grasp the extent of what Yeong-ju can do, totally supporting his goal is inevitable.

While this series does not have an elaborate design, the simplicity of the story coupled with the actors’ portrayals of their characters makes the weekly trip to watch it worthwhile.

Moreover, the humor injected can go to sudden outbursts that can truly make you laugh. Then, throughout faint fun and engrossing elements envelop the scenes.

Seo-jin in this episode gave a meaningful pep talk about the reality of what can happen when you are in an unhappy relationship. That you might end up making the wrong choice. Hopefully, she also gets back to her old job at the radio station.

Hyung-geun’s blossoming connection with So-yeon, hopefully, gives him a second chance at love.

Getting the upper hand on the case, Sung-han gears up to execute his long-premeditated plan. Before that, things will get messier since he appears to be handling the divorce case of Ju-hwa’s mother-in-law.

Of course, Yeong-ju’s lethally destructive way of making her life perfect is now focused on Sung-han. The latter also feels the same after stumbling on the possibility of foul play regarding Ju-hwa’s death.

As the conflict of the narrative escalates, the series smartly knows how not to overwhelm by giving light notes, at the same time providing screen time to the supporting cast.
