Divorce Attorney Shin Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights
Last week in Divorce Attorney Shin, the team welcomed Lee Seo-jin who acts as a consultant at the law office.
Choi Jun (Han Eun Sung) who is the man behind posting Sung-han’s viral piano playing session also resigns from his internship at Geum Hwa Law Firm and presents himself for a possible post at Attorney Shin’s law office.
Learning Jun is already working at Sung-han’s law office, Attorney Park commands him to become a spy. Put in a dilemma, he chances upon Hyung-geun at a park and shares his woes.
Thereafter, they reveal it to Sung-han who agrees him do the work and make sure he gets paid for it so they can spend it on team dinner.
Jung-sik who welcomes Seo-jin with flowers did not anticipate that the latter would not be happy about it. Since her scandal, she is still in the process of healing.
“Don’t be kind. Kindness is a weakness.”
An interesting case about a mistress and a married man seeking help for a divorce is under contemplation by Sung-han. The married man is severely ill and needs a liver transplant. His legal wife does not want to donate hers; his mistress would be willing to do that. Thus, they need to get married first.
Apparently, the wife vehemently refuses to agree to the divorce, and she spares no effort in exhausting her husband’s money.
Later, Sung-han meets the aspiring client’s son who offers his liver for her dad. He also asks to be helped with legal matters.
Meanwhile, Hyung-geun receives a call from his wife Ji-eun. He rushes with So-yeon who volunteers to drive and bring Ji-eun to the hospital. It was an awkward encounter with the man Ji-eun now lives with, but they maintain being civil.
Sensing his friend is not in a good mood when he called, the trio meets at Sung-han’s place for a drink. Looping Jung-sik and Sung-han about him meeting the man Ji-eun lives with, they all agree that life throws unexpected sad things.
Jung-sik captures Hyung-geun’s forlorn-looking back and Sung-han takes the cue on how they can cheer Hyung-geun up who gamely poses for more photos believing his best friends that he looks good and tall.
“Are you going to stay here for a while? Because I might end up being impolite.”
Seo-jin convinces Sung-han to take on Professor Choi’s case while expressing the emotional torture that she has to endure when people recognize her. Appeasing her insecurity, Sung-han retrieves the flowers she gave So-yeon.
The next day Seo-jin sees the flowers on her table and smiles pleasantly. Sung-han also meets Professor Choi to tell him personally that he will take his case.
On Ju-hwa’s birthday, Sung-han visits her and their parents who are also buried in the same place. Wallowing in restrained pain, he softly chides his parents and sister for leaving him alone when they could have lived longer.
He was also visited by Madam Ma, Ju-hwa’s mother-in-law who wants to know where his sisters’ remains are so she can visit her. However, Sung-han refuses to give the information but offers his discounted service if ever she might need a consultation.
At the mediation hearing, Attorney Shin and Professor Choi play their cards well by violating a law to bring the evil nature of his wife. Eventually, the divorce will proceed.
“I’m sorry it took so long. I wish you all the best.”
Pressed by her mother-in-law’s demand to get the burial place details of her husband’s dead wife, Yeong-ju calls Sung-han for a meeting to get the information and also talk about Ki-yeong.
The call completes the puzzle which Sung-han has been working on. Yeong-ju is the owner of the number who last called his sister.
Meanwhile, Hyung-geun finally meets Ji-eun to give the divorce she was pleading to have. He also took an effort to give her a divorce gift, a stroller for her baby.
As if his recent suspicion of who pushed his sister to death is not enough, Sung-han receives a deliberate taunt from Yeong-ju.
Divorce Attorney Shin Episodes 5 and 6 Musings
Delving into another engaging divorce case, the perspective of a third party as a cause of divorce was nicely pictured in the latest episodes of Divorce Attorney Shin.
Often, we usually sympathize with the legal spouse, but this week viewers are reminded that not all affairs have spiteful third parties involved.
Also highlighted this week is the emotional trauma felt by people ridiculed in public just like Seo-jin who had a viral affair video. It’s nice to see Sung-han represents a reminder to be kind and not judge people by mistakes they committed in the past as it does not define what they had lived so far in their lives.
Revealing how Sung-han’s sister died after receiving a phone call points to the possibility of the emotionally taxing news she heard. With the culprit remorseless of her action; Sung-han’s intended motive to become a lawyer is warranted.
We can assume that Ju-hwa could have an unrequited love or might have agreed to the marriage because of their parents or literally because she’s kind. Nevertheless, at least we get a clear picture of Sung-han’s target.
Additionally, we hope to see him continue the visiting rights for his nephew Gi-yeong, which Yeong-ju seems to not favor anymore.
Writer Yoo’s signature humor that we also had seen in Thirty Nine, featured three female friends. The sprinkle of bromance among the three best friends in the series always draws smiles and laughter. It captures that silent recognition and familiarity innate to long-time friends.
As seen in the preview, Sung-han prepares for the war he has long been contriving to materialize. Can he make it work and claim the justice that his sister deserves?
Immersed in stories of divorce, friendship, and personal goals in Divorce Attorney Shin. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
