Ji-hyuk is sweetly using his second chance in life to be with the woman he had an eventful encounter with in his past.

Marry My Husband Episode 5 Highlights
A quick flashback from the past reveals an encounter between Ji-hyuk and Ji-won who went to the same university.
Ji-hyuk once helped drunk Ji-won who could have been taken by evil men because of her alcohol intoxication. They sleep at a nearby park and he listens to her drunk blabs.
Later he sees her in the university and he participates in caring for a stray cat that she has been caring for without her knowledge.
“People don’t change. They repeat their actions.”
Back at present time, Ji-won’s recent transformation makes Min-hwan suspicious. He even had the audacity to advise that men are cheaters even those who are married which of course she knows coming from her first-hand experience from him.
Meanwhile, the department manager keeps picking on Ji-won and even hints at taking credit for her work which she has already been forming with Ju-ran and Hui-yeon.
Declining a dinner request from Ji-hyuk, Ji-won meets Eun-ho and sees the rejection letter he claims she gave which caused him to get mad at her. She realizes Su-min can copy her handwriting but keeps mum about the truth. Later, she also tells him that she has a boyfriend.
Ji-won goes home and gets scared when she notices someone following her. It turns out to be Min-hwan who again starts his suspicious rants.
Earlier, he called Su-min and learned about Ji-won’s mother’s affair. He brought it up and Ji-won easily picked the clue that Su-min shared that information.
“I like you a lot.”
Enraged, Min-hwan resorts to holding her wrist tight hurting her in the process. Suddenly, Ji-hyuk arrives and subdues Min-hwan. The latter leaves the place.
Expressing he was worried about her that’s why he is in the area, Ji-won who earlier learned from Eun-ho that he was tipped by someone to attend the reunion. It dawns on her that his recent actions are not faithful to Huiyeon whom she thought to be in a relationship with him.
After clarifying his relationship with Hui-yeon, Ji-hyuk also makes a confession that he likes Ji-won.
Walking her home, he suddenly faints on her shoulder.
Marry My Husband Episode 5 Musings
Both Ji-won and Ji-hyuk have respective endgames for the second chances given to them. While we hope their relationship progresses quickly, it is understandable they work on their individual missions. Ji-won has to marry Min-hwan to Su-min while Ji-hyuk needs to uncover the mystery of his death.
It’s nice how the plot twists in this series are thrilling and engaging yet it does not give you the strenuous time to understand plot intricacies. The villains are also doing a great job making their characters hateable.
This explains why viewers are tuning in to its engrossing story.
Will Ji-won process Ji-hyuk’s confession of feelings favorably? Can she put their annoying department manager in place?
