My Demon Episodes 7 and 8 Highlights
Almost found out by Do-kyung, Gu-won reacts quickly to hide their identities by kissing Do-hee. His power did not work which baffled him.
Moving to Do-hee’s place, Gu-won brought a lot of items he claimed as part of himself. Unable to understand his nonsense, she sent him out along with his boxes of items.
When Suk-hoon discovers an old photo of Sunwol Foundation with Gu-won, he visits Do-hee right away. She smartly responds the man is not Gu-won but his grandfather.
After rescuing drunk Ga-young from a man harassing her, Gu-won shares with Butler Heo another anomaly about his power. Meanwhile, the villain also infiltrates Sunwol Foundation and plants bugging devices.
“I cannot trust you anymore. You can no longer protect me. You’ve become weak. Does this answer your question?”
Discovering the Book of Demon to be missing, the culprit has been browsing it and through the bug he planted, he also obtained information about Gu-won’s statement.
As the deadline for Do-hee’s chairwomanship nears, Madam Ju’s children make their move by smearing her reputation. She even ends up going on a trip to the police station.
But when she learns that Gu-won was fatally stabbed, she is allowed by the lead police to visit her husband. Thinking she was too late and his power was not able to revive him, she cried.
Luckily, Gu-won’s self-healing power returned but it seems he did not recover fully.
Contemplating her options, Do-hee decides to withdraw her candidacy in the chairperson election of Mirae Group. Surprised at her decision, Gu-won demands her real reason, and she tells him how she cannot trust his protection anymore.
“Even if my feelings for you make me insignificant and weak, you are my fate that I can’t defy.”
Later, Gu-won learns from Suk-hoon that Do-hee’s fear of losing the people she cares about pushes her to make that decision. He finds her at Madam Ju’s greenhouse and convinces her to retract her decision.
Reassuring her that he has her back and admitting what he truly feels, he kisses her with all the love he has for her as Do-hee accepts his passionate kiss.
My Demon Episodes 7 and 8 Musings
Romance officially blooms midway through the mesmerizing story of My Demon. At least, the story also pays attention to explaining Do-hee’s fear and makes sure that she will not dwell on it by pushing Gu-won to be decisive, acknowledging quickly the change that happened to him over time since meeting Do-hee.
My Demon capitalizes on its well-done pace that does not waste each episode while building up the story and laying out crucial details that would matter in the subsequent chapters.
We often see how the power of love saves the day in most Korean romance dramas but the trajectory of My Demon appears making Gu-won lose his powers to probably lead a normal human life.
His diminishing strength while helping him more humane and connecting more with Do-hee poses a threat to the dangerous world she lives in.
Highlighted in the series is Ga-young’s story which led to her obsession with Gu-won. We can only hope that she soon realizes that returning emotion is as difficult as sword dance.
