The Gyesoo Family stood by Physician Gye’s side as his worst nightmare comes alive in the previous episode of Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2.
Desperate to have a higher position, Sorak’s New Village Governor Ahn Hak-soo found out Ip-bun’s identity and plans to sell her as a bribe.

Fortunate to be treated by the Gyesoo Family, Physician, and Inspector Jeon Kang-il pleaded that he want to stay at the clinic a little longer. Even though the Gyesoo Family feels uncomfortable around him, they let him stay after hearing that he has no money after leaving the Medical Office.
During his stay, Physician Jeon assist the clinic by treating other patients as well. On the other hand, Physician Yoo continues to feel jealous and suspicious of the idea that he wants to stay at the clinic.
“But what if that stillborn baby is actually alive? Then it is no longer the past for that child is my niece.”
With the new Village Governor in charge, Physician Gye starts to get anxious upon knowing who the newly appointed governor was. Every time Village Governor Ahn visits the clinic, he always tells Ip-bun to go inside.
As he expected, Governor Ahn recognizes Physician Gye despite denying that he knows him. That being the case, Village Governor Ahn confronted Physician Gye, which made the latter finally admit to knowing him.
It turns out that the husband of Ip-bun’s mother was the Village Governor’s brother. At first, he was not interested in adopting Ip-bun but as soon as an offer was proposed, Village Governor Ahn was desperate to take her.
A government official who is a family relative of the Second State Councilor wanted to have a concubine before he dies. Knowing that he can have a higher position, he wanted Ip-bun to be married.
“Bribing a government position, kidnapping, and human trafficking. The proof is all here. This is enough to strip you of your position.”
Resenting that he did not protect his daughter, Physician Gye grounded Ip-bun from leaving the clinic. Furthermore, he starts to have nightmares about the day Ip-bun’s mother died.
Physician Yoo quickly catches up with the situation and treated him as his patient. Ip-bun also learned that his father cannot sleep well so she went out to buy medical herbs.
Village Governor Ahn then saw her and revealed her true identity but told lies about Physician Gye. This made Ip-bun’s heart shattered yet she is determined to know more about her mother.
She decided to talk to Village Governor Ahn, but as soon as she steps inside his household, Ip-bun was forced not to leave. On the other, Physician Gye thought Village Governor Ahn will be kind to her daughter and accepted that she will have a better life there.
However, he heard from one of Village Governor Ahn’s men that Ip-bun will be forced to marry an old man. Working hand in hand, the Gyesoo Family successfully found the contract which made Village Governor Ahn obstruct his plans.
“There is a weakness that will make even the King turn against him. This scandal will touch on morals and law and order.”
Nonetheless, the Village Governor teamed up with Inspector Jeon and listened to his suggestion. Inspector Jeon advised that if he wants to get rid of Physician Yoo, he needs to sign a petition.
After writing a petition, the Medical Office immediately got it on their hands and presented it to the King. It contains lies about Physician Yoo that he bragged about his ties with the King, abducted a mourning widow, and offered her to be a physician.
Upon reading this, the King was feeling different emotions and cannot believe what his friend did. The Medical Office grabbed this opportunity and asked the King to strip Physician Yoo of his office and have his records annulled.

Ip-bun and Physician Gye’s relationship is also still unclear. Revealing that Physician Gye and Ip-bun’s mother were in love, it is possible that Ip-bun is indeed Physician Gye’s daughter.
On another note, it is still ambiguous if Inspector Jeon’s accident is intended or not now that he showed his real agenda. Nevertheless, seeing that the petition was in the Medical Office’s hands, he is still finishing his mission.
When Lady Eun-woo was secretly finding the contract, Inspector Jeon was there and offered to help her find the letter. With that, he indeed “found” the letter in the governor’s hidden pocket.
Also, the Governor did not fight back when the Gyesoo Family stopped him. Did he and Inspector Jeon plan this ahead? Or was this a coincidence?
Let’s just hope that the King won’t fall for their plan and thoroughly investigate this petition before giving a command.
