Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2 Episode 8 Highlights
“There is a time to let go and a time to fight back. Now is the time to fight back.”
Danger and threats continue to escalate, which risks the Gyesoo Family’s safety, especially Physician Yoo. As a result, Lady Eun-woo decided to leave Sorak Village.
However, Physician Yoo cannot bear to be away from Lady Eun-woo, knowing that she is suffering as well. Arriving at Heuksan Island, he was surprised to see Physician Jeon as well.
Physician Jeon reasons that Interpreter Jung summoned him to treat his wife since the last physician on the island recently passed away.
As Physician Yoo went to Heuksan Island, the Gyesoo Family also planned on helping Physician Yoo. Closing the clinic for a while, Physician Gye and Man-bok traveled to Hanyang to do a background check on Physician Yoo’s foes.
On the other hand, the rest of the Gyesoo Family stayed at Sorak Village to collect petitions from villagers who are severely affected by the ban.
“Your pulse tells me that there is nothing wrong with you. So, I do not understand why you are so ill. It is strange.”
Going back to Heuksan Island, Physician Yoo, and Physician Seo were appointed to treat Interpreter Jung’s wife and concubine-to-be. Meanwhile, Physician Jeon spends his time at Lady Eun-woo’s household to entertain her mother and at the same time, win her heart.
An emergency occurred at Interpreter Jung’s house as his concubine, Seol-ah, committed suicide. Thankfully, their manservant stopped her and called Physician Yoo and Seo immediately.
After giving Seol-ah first aid, the manservant explained why she tried to take her life. Also, he told them that Interpreter Jung also visited her and was yelling about a ring that he gave her.
Furthermore, his sick wife, Il-hwa arrived and slapped Seol-ah. During their small confrontation, Physician Yoo and Seo noticed that the two seems to know each other.
Lady Eun-woo also noticed a jade ring that Il-hwa was wearing, suspecting that it must be the ring that Interpreter Jung was searching for.
“Do not go out of your way to hide your true feelings. Do not be afraid. Do your best to be true to your heart. So, you have no regrets.”
Interpreter Jung visited his wife and showed him the identical ring that Il-hwa treasures and wears all the time. He then revealed that he took it from his Seol-hwa.
Il-hwa became furious when he mentioned that Seol-hwa will be his concubine against her will. She tries to harm her but Interpreter Jung sees it as her illness becoming more severe.
He assigned Physician Seo to treat her but Il-hwa refuses to be checked. On another hand, Physician Yoo was treating Seol-hwa and finds her case strange.
Since Physicians Yoo and Seo cannot properly diagnose and treat their illnesses, they investigated the two. They then found out that the jade ring was a pair, which Il-hwa and Seol-hwa both possess.
Bravely, they went to Lady Il-hwa again and revealed what they have learned about their relationship. Moreover, In-hwa finally confirms that they are a couple.
After finding out that her time is nearing its end, Seol-hwa tries to take her life rather than marry Interpreter Jung. Since many people see their relationship as scandalous, Il-hwa can’t even be with Seol-hwa during her last days.
With that, Physicians Yoo and Seo planned that the couple should meet and that accepting their feelings can cure their heart. Likewise, Lady Il-hwa also advises Eun-woo to start accepting and be true to her feelings as well.
Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2 Episode 8 Musings
The awaited first kiss of Poong Woo couple since the prequel perfectly fitted to be shown in this episode. Ever since the first episode of the couple’s romance was subtle and reserved.
Furthermore, the conflicts they are now facing push them to finally embrace their feelings. Before, and even still today, a widowed person having a relationship is still taboo for most of us.
This episode proved that loving someone means defying any barriers that block one’s relationship. Additionally, this episode bravely showed a love story of a couple from the LGBTQ community.
Their story mirrors the current situation of the Poong Woo couple. Even though their love story ended tragically, they have a big impact on the decisions of Physicians Yoo and Seo.
Now that the couple finally decided to fight back, let’s cheer the whole Gyesoo Family on stopping the Medical Office’s corrupt tactics.
