Rookie Cops Episodes 5 & 6 Key Moments
Finding the correct outlook on the career she initially pursued because of a guy she likes, Eun-kang settles into her life as a rookie police student. She has also established connections with new friends.
Weekend Group Date + Trouble
Fortunately, her new friends know how to roll like college students despite a relatively different campus setup. She even scores a slot on a group date.
Meanwhile, Seung-hyun and Tak get into trouble after standing up for bullies at a billiards’ hall. They were rescued by a senior who apparently is well-acquainted with the bullies.
Things get complicated when Seung-hyun witnessed the same senior cheating on exam day. He was approached by him with an intention for him to ignore what he saw.
Seung-hyun’s Sniper
After getting invited on a second date, Eun-kang realizes she was uncomfortable with the guy who seems to be dominating her with his choices and thoughts. Relaying her concern to Seung-hyun, he advises her to be with someone who won’t confuse her.
When the cheating senior was confronted by the tip received by the student council, he thought Seung-hyun did it. Thus, he schemed for Seung-hyun and Tak to be in trouble by spreading the video of Tak and Seung-hyun’s encounter with the bullies.
Thankfully, Eun-kang and the gang helped out in finding the witness and the victim. Despite being initially refused to help out in the situation, the victim mustered the strength to reveal the truth.
The cheating senior was also confronted by his friend and one of the student council officers to opt for an honorable end.
Celebrating the small success of standing their ground well as futurw police officers, Seung-hyun and Eun-kang go to the firing range. Aside from hitting his target well, Seung-hyun hints at acknowledging the growing feelings with Eun-kang.
Rookie Cops Episode 5 & 6 Musings
Romance building with our rookie cops is definitely welcome! The sooner the better it is!
Keeping its breezy tone, what I appreciate in the series is how the problems tackled are on a realistic side. It aligns with the age of the lead cast.
By giving small details of the big conflict to be resolved in the culminating points of the series, the focus on presenting the campus and individual lives of the characters are brought out efficiently.
If the end of episode 6 will move to what it suggests, it seems to cushion the deemed emotional reality that would involve Seung-hyun and his friendship with Tak as well.
This week’s episodes also provided a significant nudge on how bullying has since evolved from the rude kind to the psychological-haunting type. Nonetheless, the bottom line is to not allow being on the receiver’s or the sender’s end.
Also, much as we want to empathize with Detective Kang, it would help if we can understand his rage, so we can root for him well.
Along with that, we hope to see Han-na break her “unbothered demeanor” to start living as a normal student soon.
Reaching the middle point of the series, we expect a clearer picture of the main conflict and its impact on our lead cast.
Hopefully, the consistent feel-good tone keeps its momentum going on.
