Snowdrop Episode 7 Key Moments

“Who are you? For me, you are just a human shield.”

Revealing her identity as the daughter of ANSP Director, Su-ho responds by saying Young-ro won’t get the chance to be released anymore. Coldly asserting he does not need her opinion, he tells her she’s just a human shield.

Dr. Kang tips Su-ho that the building is being wiretapped and an ambush is in place. Thus, he moves to send the doctor to aid Lee Gang Mu first to rebuild trust. As expected, Gyeok-chan refuses it since the South Korean troops have so far proven they’re not worth trusting.

Using the bug placed by Team ANSP, Su-ho conversed with Gang-mu to slip the bomb his team placed in the building. He threatens to trigger all of it that Director Eun won’t be able to find the body of his daughter.

Worried about the situation, Nam Tae-il proudly declares he already placed a backup plan. Su-ho releases hostages as promised. However, Professor Han’s abduction was on the news driving another wedge between the two Koreas when the negotiation is still ongoing.

Director Eun’s second wife Hong Ae-ra, who visited the troop to bring food, proposes to publicize the current hostage situation. Reasoning it will create buzz, Nam Tae-il supports the suggestion citing the North Koreans would favor money over expendable agents. At the same time, Professor Han’s case would also eventually fade away.

“Make the North order them not to blow themselves up.”

Relenting to their proposal, Director Eun agrees to contact North Korean leader Lim Ji-rok (Su-ho’s father), and orders Nam Tae-il to withdraw the SWAT team set to ambush the place.

Director Eun calls Comrade Lim Ji Rok to give up on their three agents in exchange for 300 million. Vehemently disagreeing, he tells Director Eun to send back the agents unscathed or there will be a war.

Pretending to step out of the room, Comrade Lim confirms with her secretary that Comrade Choi is acting on her own, disregarding his decisions. As soon as her senior exited the door, she called Director Eun to proceed with killing the agents asserting she will be communicating with them from thereon.

Back at the dorm, Gyeok-chan discovers the hidden gun, irking his mercurial self. Hitting Dr. Kang with the rifle, he replaces Young-ro with the doctor as a human shield. A rifle tug-of-war ensues with Su-ho and Gyeok-chan. Just then, the gun fell from the latter and Young-ro picks it up and points it to them.

“It’s not that I miss you, but I want to see you once more.”

While the mayhem proceeds, Su-ho finally coaxes Gyeok-chan, but, as ordered by Nam Ta-il to save his lover, the sniper shoots a bullet when he got a clear shot. Gyeok-chan goes berserk and rain bullets blindly. All the while, Su-ho covers Young-ro.

Then, time stops when she finds the paper airplane letter she wrote meant for him. Staring meaningfully at each other, he grabs the paper and places her back to the window.

Sensing one of the agents went missing, Su-ho easily traces her to the backdoor. He strikes a deal of keeping her commander escape if she will stop the SWAT team, not knowing the ambush plan got canceled.

For the next negotiation, Su-ho mercilessly declares killing one student every 10 minutes. Utilizing the wiretap to their advantage, Su-ho and Gyeok-chan converse of killing Eun Young-ro first. Dropping a huge scare to Director Eun, he also explains to Gyeok-chan Young-ro’s relationship with the ANSP director.

To blind their opponents, he also cut all the wiretaps. Voicing out his hesitation to the new order of negotiating with the South to safely return after 10 days, Doctor Kang aka a senior officer in the North chides him for the mission’s failure.

Getting Young-ro back to the window for acquiescing to the order, the South proceed with the new agreement. At night, Su-ho drags Young-ro to eat, but she responds she’s only a human shield. Understanding she can’t be starved because of her father, Young-ro probes why he’s in possession of the paper airplane.

Just then, the news of her brother’s unfortunate accident while on military service duty is reported on TV, pinning the misdeed on Su-ho. His face was also made public along with his current action of leading the hostage situation at Hosu university.

Snowdrop Episode 7 Musings

Snowdrop posits two viewpoints each wanting to claim the higher ground. Amidst the tension of the political backdrop, the narrative has amazingly incorporated clever placements to support the love story’s projection.

Entering a new agreement, this enthralling series has interestingly held us hostage along with Hosu University dorm people with its unique gravitating points.

Right now, the stress we are getting from the higher-ups of both camps makes us feel sorry for the people carrying out their orders. At the very least, we can see they are wary of each other’s evil intentions.

I won’t be surprised if the younger generation of ANSP agents would collaborate with the North Korean spies once they learn how they are being used as pawns for the coming election.

Episode 7’s cliffhanger surely will set Su-ho and Young-ro at odds. Hopefully, the preview of him embracing her can reassure that he always means well, but is just bound to his life’s responsibilities.

Also worth mentioning is the frequent zoom shots delineating the conflicted emotions of the lead pairing. Thereby, enhancing the growing tension to hinder the projected love journey.

10 more days are set to test the mettle of the captives and captors in Snowdrop. How the romance we are all rooting against all odds would be the subsequent drawing point to this series.

Don’t miss the riveting story of Snowdrop on Disney+!
