Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episodes 5 Highlights
Previously, Lee brothers and Shin-ju find a baby in front of Myeoyeongak. The baby named Mi-ho by Lee Rang turns out to be a deity of wealth and fortune so General Kato wants her for his ill intentions.
As a bounty is raised for Mi-ho, she is well-protected by Lee brothers and Shin-ju.
Agreeing to Eun-ho’s request to bring the jewelry they stole from her family to a meeting place for the funding of independent fighters, Shin-ju made a meaningful change to his 1938 life which he remembers to have been tending to opium addict Lee Yeon.
Hong-joo who affirms there are two Lee Yeons in the 1938 timeline gets approached by General Kato and his right-hand Akira who already fathomed she’s not a human.
Using their knowledge of her murdering a Japanese official and threatening to kill Orchid, one of her gisaengs, Hong-joo relents to give lucky baby Mi-ho.
She smartly schemes a way to protect Mi-ho and Orchid by making Rang transform into baby Mi-ho. While she works on the deal with Kato’s right hand, Lee Yeon and Shin-ju rescue Orchid.
Meanwhile, Taluipa meets with the King of Five Paths to help discern why her future self, sent present-day Lee Yeon. The same king meets with Moo-young who agrees to grant his request in exchange for being of servitude to him.
Finally, Moo-young also makes his presence known to Lee Yeon who embraced him without knowing of his evil intention.
Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episodes 5 Musings
Preparing viewers for inevitable confrontations, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 presents a preview of the conflicts to resolve to move to the second half of the series. Moo-young makes a risky move that can either work or not in his favor.
It depends on how Lee Yeon weighs Moo-young’s importance to his life since the latter most likely wants to gain his trust and push for his ultimate plans.
Layering this series with romance, Rang and Yeo-hee’s blossoming romance hopefully progresses to more adorable moments.
Interestingly, the series is clear with its main direction while giving individual stories to the characters like Shin-ju and Eun-ho as independent fighters, Hong-joo’s dilemma between her dear friends as well as her one-sided love, Moo-young’s treacherous plan and Lee Yeon’s mission.
Another worth anticipating events would be the intertwining confrontations that hopefully would be captured in stunning combat scenes. We had a sample of intense strength weighing between Kato and Lee Yeon while Hong-joo amazingly wielded her big sword to protect Rang.
