The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim Episode 6 & 7 Peak Points
“Go get your bag. We need to go somewhere.”
As soon as the homeroom teacher announces the name of the student with the lowest grades – Il Nam, Na Woo Soo drags him to the auditorium.
Woo-soo knows that his friend’s life is in danger, and he might not be able to do something to save him, even if he tried his best. After a fistfight between them both, Woo-soo decides to take Il Nam far away – enough distance so that the spirit doesn’t reach them.
But before he could, he senses the evil spirit around him.
“I don’t care what happens to Il Nam. He’s not my friend.”
Back in the classroom, Ga Doo Shim fights with her guilty conscience that is continuously taking over her. She recalls how cold she was when Woo-soo literally begged her to save his only best friend. She now feels bad about her attitude, but she tries to ignore the nagging thoughts by pretending Il Nam is not even a friend who she should worry about.
But shortly, she feels something strange in the air; the spirit is now taking control over the school. She briskly looks for Woo Soo and Il Nam, and finds them in the auditorium, all frightened by the evil spirit.
“How can a student at the top be friends with a student at the bottom?”
Il Nam and Woo-soo, run for their lives and end up in an underground parking lot. Il Nam jokes around about how heroic Doo Shim was before, while Woo Soo feels something is still not quite right!
The evil spirit takes over the body of a delivery man who is working there. He tries to hurt Il Nam but Woo Soo always helps his friend. He despises their friendship and believes this combo of top and bottom grades students is not right and bashes them both.
They are trapped in the elevator, when Ga Doo Shim, once again, comes to their rescue.
“Fine. Let’s say there is an evil spirit. Why would the evil spirit kill kids?”
After they all escape, and reach The Beautiful Clairvoyant, Woo Soo and Doo Shim, decide to explain the whole scenario.
For Il Nam, this all situation was just a joke, because things really didn’t make sense for a normal teenage student, who lives a totally simple life, and had never believed ghosts or spirits ever existed. He laughs out at them, while they are explaining the situation.
When Doo Shim realizes that Il Nam will not understand it all, she comes up with a plan.
Back when Woo Soo and Doo Shim went to help Il Nam with studies, she met his late father’s soul. All the intimate details of how Il Nam grew up were something that stayed between his father and himself. Il Nam is left confused about how Doo Shim knows all about it, loses his temper and breaks down in tears.
“Did you think you would be able to stop me like this?”
Ga Doo Shim recalls how her grandmother once killed a spirit with an ax – she finds it out and walks out with the mission to kill the spirit. The very next second, Woo Soo calls and informs about how Il Nam ran back to school. Now Doo Shim is 100% sure that he is under the spirit’s influence.
Back at school Na Woo Soo and Ga Doo Shim try killing the spirit with the ax, but they couldn’t and Il Nam jumps out of the window.
“He can’t go back into his body after five minutes.”
Even when Il Nam is unconscious, and his head is already bleeding, his heartbeat is steady. Doo Shim is sure they could make it and save him. But the only problem is that Il Nam’s soul has already come out of his body. If he isn’t saved in the next five minutes, he will not be able to go back.
In order to keep him alive, Doo Shim suggests Hyun Soo take over his body and walk him to the nearest hospital.
Luckily this idea works, and now Il Nam fights for life in the hospital bed.
The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim Mid-Series Musings
Ga Doo Shim is a girl who wishes to live the life of a normal teenager. But with what is already written in her fate, she is destined to be a shaman and save the lives of students who die because of an evil spirit, ruling the school.
As the story proceeds, her character development gets much more evident. She is always letting her fears control over making her shut all her feelings towards others.
This fear of coming out as a shaman destroyed her from inside. But as she realized how important her role is in saving innocent lives, she gives her 100% to make sure she doesn’t give up on her loved ones.
Since the start of the series, Na Woo Soo’s character was portrayed as the cold, proud top student, who has girls attracted towards 24/7. But as the story unveiled his emotions and feelings towards his friends and family and especially towards Ga Doo Shim, it was quite clear that this boy is totally capable of loving someone and making sure to protect her from everything.
The friendship between Il Nam and Na Woo Soo is one of those things that lightened up the overall mood of the story; the sense of humor Il Nam most of the time carries the comedic moments of the series.
Episodes 6 and 7 mark a major turning point in the story as all the pieces of the puzzles start making much more sense. It was brimming with action and thrilling moments as the duo tried to save Il Nam.
Along with that, the formidable duo also works, not letting the love spark extinguishes.
Where the story goes to?
As the story revolves around the main leads, the series can be a bit fast-forwarding due to short airing- time, but it has some really emotional and action points that would make it stand out from other series of the same genre.
Highlighting the common problems that a high-schooler is ought to face, The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim teaches an individual to fight out her own fears and come out as a confident and fearless person.
The recently-aired episode end at a cliffhanger, where no one knows whether Il Nam would be able to make it or not. I am expecting that the drama would now focus on the evil spirit like what happened years back that led to this current situation and why the school principal is harboring the spirit and letting it attack the low-grade students?
In the future episodes, we are also hoping to witness scenes where the main leads: Na Woo Soo and Ga Doo Shim would come much more closer and would start clicking much more together.
Wishing to see Il Nam in the next episodes, cause without his sense of humor and the interactions with Na Woo Soo, the drama would not be that interesting.
