“Enjoy your freedom while you have it.”
Jung-ho reflects on whether fighting fair with the law is worth it. Back to their situation in the police station, he claims that Eun-gang wasn’t alone in looking after Min-kyu.
Now a police officer at the station, Se-yeon who has been strict like a teacher when they were young, handles the case of Min-kyu. She doubts Eun-gang’s statements during the incident as the duration of taking the video seems planned.
Detaining the three bullies, their guardians get fully defensive of their child. Getting reprimanded for ignoring the fact that Ji-hoon’s father is the mayor of Dowon borough, Se-yeon doubts her decisions. Adding to that, she is also aware of Yu-ri’s scheme with Jung-ho.
Back at the cafe, Yu-ri feels guilty for their scheme as a group of adults, convinced in catching Min-kyu’s bullies by the book.
“Just having people on your side might be enough consolation to help someone feel relief.”
Having breakfast at Min-kyu’s, Jung-ho reassures Min-kyu he can do anything and has the right to request anything from his perpetrators.
Not matching their statements, Se-yeon blows up at Jung-ho and Eun-gang for fighting in front of Min-kyu.
Finally telling the truth, Eun-gang admits he set the fire and emphasizes the urgency of Min-kyu’s situation. To clarify his position now, Jung-ho presents himself as the attorney of Min-kyu.
Still confident though detained, Ji-hoon taunts Jung-ho who promises to put him back behind bars, stating his awareness of the horrendous videos on their phones.
The mayor of Dowon borough barges into the law cafe, but Yu-ri remains unintimidated and is ready to fight until the end for Min-kyu.
Comforting each other, Eun-gang clarifies to Min-kyu the reason he helped him and thanks him for not giving up on his life.
“There’s no difference in letting him go now or killing him.”
Standing up for Min-kyu, Yu-ri thanks Jung-ho and walks toward him, hugging him.
Together in the golfing range, President Lee and Mayor Hong talk about how crazy a lawyer Yu-ri is.
Calling the publishing company he started a failed investment, Jung-ho shares that he has stopped writing.
Coming back to the law cafe, Joon finds himself in a lawsuit for giving legal advice when he is not an attorney yet. The same goes for the business of Min-kyu’s grandmother, they find it faced with sanctions for sanitation and selling drinks to minors.
Laughing at the recent happenings, President Lee wishes to see the reaction of the people affected.
Going as proceeded, the school violence committee moves forward like a trial. Jung-ho represents Min-kyu as his lawyer, explaining the violations of the bullies in both legal and simple terms. Their plan of ripping the bullies apart follows through and Jung-ho underlines the gravity of the videos found on their phones.
“Whenever you shine brightly in happiness, this incident will turn into your weakness and come back to haunt you every single time.”
News comes out exposing the mayor of Dowon borough in a call recording. Yu-ri feels relief with the case’s nearing resolution.
Coordinating the seize, Jung-ho gets ready to come back, but Ji-hoon hits him with a brick.
Waking up tied in a chair after being unconscious, Jung-ho persuades Ji-hoon’s companions to leave if they are hesitant as Ji-hoon appears to be eager to kill Jung-ho.
Already tormented thinking of the existence of a video mentioned by Jung-ho, Ji-hoon feels crazier after hearing it was all a trick and no video exists.
Impatient with the rescue team, Yu-ri rams her car to the driveway. Entering the place, she rescues Jung-ho and bites back Ji-hoon.
Expressing her extreme worry for Jung-ho, Yu-ri and Jung-ho share a passionate kiss.
The Law Cafe Episode 7 Musings
Children who are confident to commit crimes while young speak a lot about how their conscience works and their guardian’s role in correcting their behavior.
Disappointing it may be, parents who use their power to shield the wrongs of their children worsen the crippling situation their child created.
Though it may be done during their youth, like what Jung-ho said to Ji-hoon, it will surely leave a mark on their records to the point they can remember it even during their happiest moments in life.
Resolving such cases by the book is the most agreeable way despite the unfair happenings. Using unfair methods is no different from the wrongs that have been done to you.
President Lee makes sure to get back at Yu-ri even in the background. Although attacking covertly, Jung-ho is also beginning to get back actively on the legal scene.
