Although there may be hesitations, Hee-do gambles her everything for her love for Yi-jin in Twenty Five Twenty One.
After their new year kiss, Yi-jin recognizes the risks of his close bond with Hee-do. Despite getting reprimanded, in the end, Yi-jin still takes a step forward with his relations with Hee-do, who competed for her last match as a high schooler.

Twenty Five Twenty One Episode 13 Key Moments
“Same age in the same era. We had different jobs, but we had similar concerns.”
With the kiss during the new year, Hee-do goes back home wishing that the world ended as Yi-jin delineates the type of love he has for her.
Invited by Ji-woong to his driving party, Seung-wan, Yu-rim, and Hee-do hop on the car Ji-woong is driving. However, they all come back soon, and have a difficult time parking the car.
Knowing that Yi-jin knows how to drive, Ji-woong requests Hee-do to call him, but she hesitates, to which Ji-woong attributes her hesitation to the fact that she really did kiss him.
Willing to prove Ji-woong wrong, Hee-do calls Yi-jin, but he excuses himself as he is about to go on broadcast.
Coach Yang brings possible college options of Hee-do to Jae-kyung, and she also bumps into Yi-jin. Having that opportunity to drink together, Coach Yang tells her own story of how her friendship with Jae-kyung, who is a reporter, has begun and ended.
She clarifies her own side of the story to Yi-jin, telling him that she was not aware of the bribe back then. Concluding her story, Coach Yang makes it a lesson to Yi-jin on the risks of the close relations of a reporter and an athlete.
“Don’t just do your best. You have to do well.”
Distracted during her practices, Hee-do gets reprimanded by Coach Yang for her performance as their competition date becomes near.
In their individual matches, Yu-rim and Hee-do both lose, but this does not demoralize them. Even though Hee-do is provoked by her opponent who won, she still handles her calmly and maturely.
Hee-do acknowledges where she lacks during the match, and calls out her opponent to develop some social skills as they are already adults.
Watching over Hee-do interacting with a male friend of hers, Yi-jin twists the umbrella appearing to be jealous as the guy invites Hee-do to drink after the matches. Fueled by his emotions, he then leaves a note on the gloves Hee-do left.
Coming back for their last match, which is a team match, Yu-rim and Hee-do succeed in their last match as high schoolers, winning together in the match together with their teammates.
“It’s a gamble to confess your feelings. You either get it all or lose it all.”
Mistaking that Hee-do is attempting to kiss him again, Yi-jin dodges Hee-do’s touch while also suddenly eating the food on his hand. Embarrassed with Yi-jin’s reflex, Hee-do who intended to only remove the thread on his coat, runs away from the shop.
Recalling their kiss and his recent encounter with Hee-do, Yi-jin gets drunk on soju, and calls to tell Hee-do about how he feels like wavering. On the other end of the line, Ji-woong is the one Yi-jin accidentally called.
Given that accident, Ji-woong teases Yi-jin for the drunk call he received the other night.
Waiting for Yi-jin outside his house, Hee-do talks about the type of love she has for Yi-jin. Coming back home drunk after talking to his senior, who has just reprimanded him for the distance between the subject and a reporter, Yi-jin passes by Hee-do and leaves her outside.
Although he intends to walk her home, he hesitates on going outside, and instead requests for patrol for Hee-do who is walking back home alone.
“The result was brilliant and the process was beautiful.”
With his report on the recently concluded match that Yu-rim and Hee-do were in, Yi-jin gets reprimanded by his superior for inputting emotions on his report, sounding like poetry, not news.
Aware of his own troubles, Yi-jin tries to request to get transferred to another sport. However, his superior does not grant his request and tells him to fix the problem he is in.
Waiting again outside for Yi-jin, Hee-do thanks him for his report about her last match as a high schooler. However, Yi-jin reveals how he has gotten into trouble in his work for doing such a report.
Touching on that topic, Yi-jin tells Hee-do that he does not regret meeting or loving, and instead blames himself for wavering causing the arising troubles in his career.
Convinced with the recent events and everyone’s reminder to him, Yi-jin suggests they distance themselves for the better. Even with that, Hee-do shouts her heart out to Yi-jin who has left her outside crying, and to that Yi-jin comes out to kiss her, open to try that kind of love.
Twenty Five Twenty One Episode 13 Musings
Reaching the new millennium, we could witness the changes and growth of the characters in the series. With Ji-woong flexing his driving skills as well as Yu-rim’s and Hee-do’s last match as high schoolers, these just indicate a new era for those who are transitioning to adult life.
In addition to that, with Ji-woong catching onto Yi-jin and Hee-do’s situation, the comedic relief can be appreciated alongside the transitioning relationship of Hee-do and Yi-jin. Their kiss may have not developed into an outright loving relationship, but it sure did bring a new direction into it.
Among all those happy moments are the final moments of Yu-rim and Hee-do in fencing as high schoolers. Their maturity with regards to their approach to competitors can be something to look up to.
Knowing the risks it brings to their careers, Hee-do’s sincerity shakes Yi-jin’s hesitations of wavering to act also on his feelings. Similar to the previous episode, this episode also ends with a kiss, but this time, it is initiated by Yi-jin.
The courage found by Ji-woong and Yi-jin in their own love interests has shown notable and heartfelt progress. Through those newfound grit, memories and honest feelings are shared.
For everything that has been happening, viewers could wish them well and cherish their moments together as their future together is uncertain given the recent words of Hee-do at present that nothing lasts forever.
