My Name Series Musings
My Name provides its viewers with an enticing premise for the gripping first episode, which clearly depicts Han So Hee’s change from a weak and brokenhearted Ji-woo to a rage-fueled and strategic Hye Jin.
Similarly, Han’s never-before-seen role seamlessly captures all of the emotions, despite her early reputation as a melodramatic actress. She depicted her character as Ji-woo, who is vulnerable and fearful and wishes to avenge her father’s death. As well as the sorrow of losing his father and later discovering that the killer is the one who took her in and taught her, admirably in this series.
The notion of treachery and vengeance in My Name is complex. This begins with Donghoon getting Moo-jin to place all his trust in him, and then betraying him. Moo-jin, who misled Ji-woo in order to make her into a monster to compensate for his anguish over Donghoon’s betrayal.
Finally, Ji-woo, who hesitated to murder Moo-jin after knowing her father was an undercover police officer attempting to apprehend Moo-jin’s location. This series is a perfect example of what goes around comes around.
My Name is unsettling to watch, but the characterization of the female lead and the supporting cast deserves applause, and this series should be added to viewers’ binge-watch lists.
