It’s bromance overload in episodes 5 to 7 of Unexpected Business!
Continuing its engrossing run, tvN’s latest entertainment show starring Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung scored engaging stories recently.
Unexpected Business sets a challenge to Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun who are known to the industry to be good friends. Since its premiere on February 25, the two actors have been serving food and selling varied goods in a town where the supermarket they run seem to be the go-to place of the people for their regular needs.
Unexpectedly Great Business Owners
While Cha Tae Hyun man the grocery store and engage in small talks with the store customers, Jo In Sung serves appetizing dishes made with genuine effort to serve hearty meals to the diners.
Notably, the regular customers who visit the rural supermarket are indispensable point of watching for Unexpected Business. It goes without saying but they did help the novice supermarket owners work their way to what should be done at the store.
Getting closer is but natural as the two actors share stories and even jokes with them. Sometimes they find the items on their own, help in ringing up the cost and cover their clumsy sides. It creates warm smiles enjoyed by the cast and customers as well as the viewers.
Adding to that, the two bosses have invited quite attractive part-timers so far. Park Bo Young, Yoon Kyung Ho, Kim Jae Hwa, Park Kyung Hye and Shin Seung Hwan. Most recently, Jo In Sung’s The Great Battle co-stars helped out in fishing for Chef Jo’s menu and also manned the store.
The Great Battle Brothers Conquer The Sea
From episodes 5 to 7 Jo In Sung reunites with his brothers from the film The Great Battle. Nam Joo Hyuk and Park Jung Eun went fishing together for Jo In Sung’s menu in the supermarket. Meeting at Gonghyeonjin Port, Chef Jo worries about the cloudy sky as he drives to their meeting point. After a quick breakfast, they head to catch some fish as the pressure from the store demands them to report their progress real-time.
Despite cloudy weather, the team sets forth for their fishing expedition. But what they thought to be relatively calm sailing turned to a nightmare as strong waves hit their boat. While braving the waves, Jung-eun gives a quick Fishing 101 class to his brothers. But Owner Jo is obviously uncomfortable with the big waves.
Reaching their fishing spot, they have a front seat view of the raging waves, and Joo-hyuk wonders if they can catch some fish. But they trust Jung-eun and his fishing skills to get some loot to take home. PRO fisherman Park did not bring them down and went on a rampage with his fish haul.
Fresh Menu From The Sea
But Owner Jo’s new recruits have a long way ahead aside from the wave-defying fishing experience. They are still set to serve the fish they caught and man the store. An instant pop-up sushi bar by Jung-eun was set up while maknae Joo-hyuk is in charge of selling goods at the store. Owners Cha And Jo go to their usual roles of cooking and grilling once the peak hours arrived.
They serve appetizing mulhoe dish courtesy of Jung-eun which the customers ate with gusto. Albeit a long day serving the townspeople with yummy dishes, they delight seeing satisfied faces to what they offered.
Clumsy & Cute Part-Timer Joo-hyuk
Another endearing highlight not to be missed in The Great Battle brothers guesting is Nam Joo Hyuk’s parade of cutesies while tending the store. From being clueless on what he will do with the pricelist to operating the cash register and making little calculations and serving mistakes, he’s a big pile of bliss.
He even monitors what the customers are picking so he can be ready to ring it up at the counter. He also diligently kept track of the items he sold.

Chill Chat After A Long Day
Wrapping up the night, the six men manning the store close the store and go for a sumptuous feast. Tae-hyun receives a phone call from Yoo Jae Suk who checked on In Sung. The latter confessed how he threw up twice because he got seasick. He also chats with Byung-eun and Joo-hyuk and praised all their cute mistakes because the production staff would love it since it’s good for the show.
Always a fan-favorite part of Unexpected Business is when the guests and store owners sit down together for a candid chat. Tae-hyun was surprised to learn that Joo-hyuk likes old songs and Byung-eun has nothing but praises for Joo-hyuk’s kind nature.
Byung-eun shares how happy he likes living in Jeju island and how his love for fishing started when he was young. He likes fishing so much that his story of how he spent one summer of his youth camping and fishing for 15 days made his brothers laugh. Chronicling his fishing anecdotes surely made their chat lively.
Leaving Joo-hyuk to still work at the store until the next day. Byung-eun, Seung-hwan and Il-sook go back home to attend to their personal schedules.
Family Day Sunday
Leaving the store to their new part-timer, Tae-hyun goes for another round of mountain trout orders. Alone with In-sung hyung, Joo-hyuk picks Park Jeong Un’s music to accompany the lazy Sunday morning.
When the first set of customers arrive, Tae-hyun chat with them and reveal his funny dream when he was their age. That is to direct a film where he is also the actor and OST singer making the students beam. In-sung and Joo-hyuk also share their beginnings as models.
Further chronicling how he struggled with his academics after quitting sports, Joo-hyuk reminisced how he was laughed at when he shared that his career goal was to become a model. Wanting to prove his goal is not farfetched, he achieved it in three years’ time. Tae-hyun supports Joo-hyuk’s goal-driven career outlook and tells the senior high students to take it easy and enjoy life.
Soon after, families flock to the store to munch some food. Working together the three actors satisfy their customers with the served meals.
Before Joo-hyuk went home, he had a quick chat with In-sung about the difference of Sunday in a small town and in Seoul. They both agree how you can feel Sunday is a day of rest in a small town. He also confesses that he let go of a chocolate bar when a little girl wanted to buy it and she was short of cash. In-sung was proud of what he did and assures him not to worry about it.
