Jung So Min and Kim Ji Suk star in a heartwarming comedy about real estate disputes.

The premiere week episodes of Monthly Magazine Home are available to watch on iQiyi. The series will be simulcast with Korea on iQ.com and the iQiyi International app every Wednesday and Thursday at 8 PM (SGT).

Monthly Magazine Home tells the story of a home magazine editor Na Young Won (Jung So Min). Despite working for ten years, she continues to live in a rental flat. One day, she encounters a cruel landlord and magazine publisher Yoo Ja Sung (Kim Ji Suk), who uses real estate as an investment tool. The two later develop romantic feelings towards each other in a house deal.

The publisher hires a group of characteristic employees – photographer Shin Gyeom (Jung Gun Joo) emphasizes on “living in the moment”; senior editor Yeo Eui Ju (played by Chae Jeong An) enjoys happiness at hand; editor-in-chief Choi Go (played by Kim Won Hae) works hard to rebuild the aging apartment for families, and mysterious editor Nam Sang Soon (played by An Chang Hwan) who has been in the real estate business for 13 years. Together, they form a dynamic and story that resonates with viewers across genders and demographics.

A Reunion Drama For Jung So Min and Kim Ji Suk

At the press conference on June 16, the cast and director shared their thoughts about the series.

After working on the production for one year, director Lee Chang Min highlighted the theme “home” in the series at the press conference. He was confident that it would offer laughter to the audience. Unlike conventional romance comedies, there were no archetype villains in the series, but emotional lines in every episode.

Since Came to Me and Became a Star eight years ago, Kim Ji Suk and Jung So Min collaborate in a drama anew as landlord and tenant. They even share the same result in the MBTI personality test popular in Korea now.

Kim Ji Suk said he benefited and learned a lot from Jung’s responsive and rich performances. He also confessed that he barely knew about real estate until this series.

Jung So Min responded that Kim Ji Suk always took good care of everyone on set, and got along with Kim well. Even though the subject in this series is different from the last collaboration, Jung got to know other aspects of Kim, and felt satisfied with the chemistry on set.

Viewers also looked forward to seeing these two roles evolve from contractual to romantic relationships.

Monthly Magazine Home Cast Defines The Meaning of “Home”

The cast also talked about their definitions of ‘home’. Jung Gun Joo described it as “a healing place”. Kim Won Hae thought of it as “a resting place after work; to be with family and relax comfortably”.

Chae Jeong An believed that “home is a place to be who I am; to relax and rest”. Kim Ji Suk envisioned “home is the place to recover after an exhausting day”.

An Chang Hwan said: “I had applied to purchase properties after getting married, but didn’t get selected in most cases, just like my character Nam Sang Soon”.

Jung So Min cherished home “as a place to refill energies I have drained, and release all my pressure”.
