A smashing romance story is expected to hit the small screen in Love All Play!
Securing the mid-week spot of KBS2, the series held an online production presentation on April 20.
Accordingly, PD Jo Woong and lead stars Park Ju Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop reveal filming stories and what to expect in the series.
The series is a collaboration of a creative team with a drama portfolio that includes Tomorrow With You, Honest Candidate, and Justice.
Sharing his creative intention, PD Jo Woong described Love All Play as a story that paints real life.
“It is a sports youth romance drama. It contains the stories of the players, and there is also a unique comedy of writer Heo Sung-hye.”
In the drama, Park Ju Hyun takes on the role of Park Tae-yang, an athlete whose life is all about sports, and Chae Jong Hyeop portrays Park Tae-joon, an athlete who only considers sports as a profession.
Lead Stars Share Sneak Peeks At Their Characters
Tae-yang, whose life is all about sports, meets Park Tae-joon and finds a new purpose.
Park Ju Hyun delineates her character to be a person focused only on Badminton. The process of her growth after meeting Tae-joon is one of the drawing points of the story.
With regard to her first romance drama, she shared not having a bad time because Chae Jong Hyeop is easy to work with.
Meanwhile, challenging his first public TV drama, he confessed to feeling the pressure for his first lead role. PD Jo also reveals that the role is made for the actor and he can’t think of anyone but him to work on it.
Regarding his role, Chae describes him as the opposite of Tae-yang. As he takes Badminton to earn money, sometimes he’s sarcastic, cute and childish.
Correspondingly, the series which evolves in Badminton expects to draw viewers since it is a familiar and national sport.
In particular, Chae who previously starred as a baseball player in Stove League shared the different appeals of his characters.
“Badminton is a familiar sport. The training was harder than I imagined, but now I want to do it because it’s fun.”
Whereas sports dramas usually capture the fighting spirit and persistence of players who work endlessly toward their goals, Love All Play depicts the story of players living as office workers by highlighting the badminton business team.
PD Cho expressed how he brandished the characters in the drama as athletes.
“I thought that athletes, unlike ordinary office workers, have a quick heyday, quicker awareness of their capabilities, and quicker concerns about retirement. They had internal conflicts and worries about the future, so I wanted to portray it as a job.”
Love All Play airs every Wednesday and Thursday on KBS2 TV. International fans can watch it on Viu.
