Mysterious Lotus Casebook
Currently airing on iQIYI is the detective drama Mystery Lotus Casebook (莲花楼), which is adapted from Teng Ping’s (藤萍) novel, starring Cheng Yi (成毅), Joseph Zeng (曾舜晞), Aero Xiao (肖顺尧) and Chen Duling (陈都灵).
It tells the story of the renowned leader of the Sigu School, Li Xiangyi (played by Cheng Yi), who is severely injured in a major battle and hence retreats from the martial arts world. He becomes a humble physician named Li Lianhua.
However, his peaceful life is disrupted when he meets Fang Duobing (played by Joseph Zeng), and his old enemy Di Feisheng (played by Aero Xiao). The number of reservations for the drama exceeded 4 million before its broadcast, and the popularity index rose to more than 6,500 within two hours of its premiere.
Not only the drama is Guo Hu’s (郭虎) new work following his past popular costume dramas One and Only (周生如故) and Immortal Samsara (沉香如屑), but it is also Cheng Yi’s first time acting in detective drama.
Although the drama is full of suspense, it is light-hearted and humorous at the same time. It is definitely a drama that you must not miss if you enjoy watching suspenseful theoretical dramas!
Love You Seven Times
With more than 2 million reservations on iQIYI, fantasy drama Love You Seven Times (七时吉祥) is adapted from Jiu Lu Fei Xiang’s (九鹭非香) novel titled Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes, All Thanks To A Single Moment Of Impulse (一时冲动，七世不祥), tells the story of Xiang Yun (played by Yang Chaoyue (杨超越)), a fairy of the Moon Elder Pavilion, and Chu Kong (played by Ryan Ding (丁禹兮)), a disciple of the Star King of Mouri. They accidentally messed up the red thread while quarreling, which led to marriage chaos in the three worlds.
They were then punished to go through seven lives of love before returning to the heavenly realm. The story began as they found love on the way. Jiu Lu Fei Xiang’s novels have been adapted into TV series several times, including Love Between Fairy and Devil (苍兰诀) and The Legend of Shen Li (与凤行).
Many fans of the hit drama Love Between Fairy and Devil are anticipating the airing of this drama due to both dramas’ indirect connection. If you have watched many dramas revolving love stories in three lives, you should catch this drama about a love story that lasted seven lives!
Exclusive Fairy Tale
Exclusive Fairy Tale is adapted from Yijin’s popular novel titled Once We Come Across Love (兔子压倒窝边草). It demonstrates a romantic love story revolving around childhood sweethearts, the independent, sensitive Ling Chao (played by Wen Junhui (文俊辉)) and the cute, quirky Xiao Tu (played by Zhang Miaoyi (张淼怡)).
Known as Jun from popular Korean Pop band SEVENTEEN, Wen Junhui’s role in Exclusive Fairytale is his first leading role in a high school romance drama, alongside Zhang Miaoyi, a youthful girl who acted in several high school romance dramas.
Both the appearances and acting skills of the two actors are highly praised by many, while fans of the novel agreed that the casts of the drama resembled the characters perfectly, and were excited from just watching the behind-the-scenes footage.
The Comic Bang
Adapted from a well-known manga, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun by Izumi Tsubaki, The Comic Bang is directed by Zhong Qing (钟青) and stars Shen Yue (沈月), who often acts in high school romance dramas, Wang Jingxuan (王敬轩) and Jenny Zeng (曾可妮), with a special appearance of Zhao Yiqin (赵弈钦).
It tells the story of Ye Qi (played by Wang Jingxuan) and Zuo Qiandai (played by Shen Yue) setting up a comic team together by mistake. With everyone in the small studio supporting one another, it is a story about youth, friendship and dreams.
Many netizens expressed that the drama highly restores the scenes from the novel by watching the trailer, and it is a perfect choice for Shen Yue to play the female lead as she looks as if she belongs to the manga!
Japanese comics have been adapted to come to life, this light-hearted, Japanese-style campus romance drama is definitely one to watch!

Like what the drama title meant, Escape to Homestay tells the story of Top (played by Prom), a bar owner who ended his business due to financial difficulties, alongside his friends Kan (played by Mark), who is a flight attendant on unpaid leave and talented photographer Film (played by Plan) learned a new way of living while managing a homestay.
