OCN’s Dark Hole gave an overview of the series through its two main leads pictured in a distressing situation.
Touted as an action-thriller-human-survival drama, Dark Hole traverses the desperate survival of people against mutants that were mysteriously created by inhaling cryptic dark smoke from a sinkhole. To be directed by Kim Bong Ju, the project will be written by Jeong Yi Do and will run for 12 episodes.
The series is OCN’s fifth installment for its well-received and ingeniously crafted dramatic cinema project. It combines the format of a movie and drama and runs for 12 episodes. Following Trap, Hell Is Other People, Team Bulldog: Off Duty Investigation and Search; the new series aims to continue its impressive streak.
In the released teasers, it reveals how Muji city changed when a strange smoke turned the people into mutants. Wearing a mask is a must to survive. Hwa-seon (Kim Ok Bin) and Tae-han (Lee Joon Hyuk) are seen with an alert gaze. It preludes to the tension of the survivors struggling fiercely to live. Blood splatters are evident even in the dark as Hwa-seon and Tae-han are guarded against human mutants who might appear out of nowhere.
The existence of a child who seems to be protecting Hwaseon in another photo by holding her hand is a point to watch. The production team hints that “Do-yoon, a child who came to hold hands in the field of survival, has a great meaning to Hwa-seon.”
The copy “we have encountered the age of survival”, attracts attention intensely at the center of the image. It foreshadows an extreme disaster that Hwa-seon, Tae-han, and the survivors could not even imagine.
Dark Hole is scheduled to be broadcast for the first time at 10:50 pm on Friday, April 30. By moving the time zone from the existing Saturday and Sunday programming to Friday, it can also be seen on tvN.
