Link Eat Love Kill

Link: Eat Love Kill Opening Week Highlights

Known to be a cold-hearted, emotionless, and straightforward sous chef, Eun Gye-hoon starts expressing different emotions at the wrong time. However, sharing a connection with someone is not unusual to him since he shares the same feelings with his twin sister 20 years ago.

As Gye-hoon starts to be linked with someone’s emotions, this gave him hope to return to Jihwa-dong to find his sister. He also decided to establish his own bistronomy restaurant with his assistant chef, Cha Jin Hoo.

Before going back to his hometown, Gye-hoon feels connected with a woman he met at the Seoul Gourment Fair, Noh Da-hyun. Like every woman he suspects to be his sister, he asks her to play a rock paper scissors game and asks personal questions.

Noh Da-hyun’s Living Nightmare

Leaving her a weird impression, Da Hyun became more suspicious of Gye-hoon after giving her food with a used scarf. For days, Da -hyun started receiving packages from an unknown sender, making her anxious and afraid.

However, her mother finds out that Da-hyun has many unpaid rent notices and failed to pass her Civil Exams. With that, she returns to her hometown where she encounters Gye-hoon and accuses him of being a stalker.

The truth behind her stalker then surfaces as rumor spreads that she is dating her co-worker, Jin-geun. She confronts him and finds out that Jin-geun became delusional and thinks that they are both dating.

He continues to follow Da-hyun in Jihwa-dong and starts to attack her. Drowning in fear, Da-hyun fainted and woke up to see the dead body of Jin-geun soaked in his blood. On the other hand, Gye-hoon also starts to feel Da-hyun’s emotions and became wary of what happened to her that night.

The Mysterious Townpeople of Jihwa-dong

With her hazy memories, Da-hyun tries to turn herself in to the police but failed to because of how busy they are with the many cases committed in their town. She returns with a heavy heart and is surprised to see her mother and grandmother at the crime scene.

They both helped Da-hyun dispose of Jin-geun’s body inside a refrigerator. To her observation, the two seem to be experienced in these kinds of situations.

However, their coverup starts to fail as the refrigerator they thought will be disposed of was returned to Gye-yoon’s restaurant. Together with her mother and grandmother, Da-hyun tries her best to sneak inside in different ways.

As she befriends Gye-yoon, he starts to become suspicious of her and questions her about what happened. He then notices that Da-hyun has bruise marks on her arms and immediately took her to the hospital.

Furthermore, he took the opportunity to test her in exchange for the information Da-hyun wants. Gye-hoon’s intuitions turn out to be correct as no one loses from their rock paper scissors game.

Da-hyun then successfully unlocks the restaurant using Gye-yoon’s birthday. She finally opens the refrigerator but was surprised to see Gye-yoon waiting for her.

Link: Eat Love Kill Opening Week Musings

Starting the series with a warm and emotional episode, Link: Eat Love Kill surprises everyone with a shift in their narrative. The drama also gives a new take on mystery dramas and leaves from the usual plot.

As it focuses on Gye-yoon and Da-hyun’s linked emotions, the drama successfully connects their feelings outside the small screen. In its first week premiere, Link expresses powerful emotions portrayed by Yeon Jin Goo and Moon Ga Young.

Yeo also charms everyone with his excellent shift of emotions and embodiment of his challenging role. Not to mention the pairing’s intense chemistry, it’s also still early to conclude that their characters are blood-related.

The story of the mysterious town of Jihwa-dong and its residents adds a dark note to the story. It unfolds many possibilities and theories behind its murder and missing cases.

With that, Link: Eat Love Kill is definitely an interesting and refreshing addition to this year’s dramas. Everyone should also prepare their hearts for more plot twists and mysteries to unravel soon.
