Da-hyun doesn’t feign ignorance of the facts that Gye-hoon tries to mask. Due to this, their relationship hangs by a thread in Episode 12 of Link: Eat, Love, Kill.

Previously in Link: Eat, Love, Kill, Lee Jin-geun reveals half of the truth about Gye-young’s disappearance. As he was about to expose the man’s identity to Gye-hoon, the man that Jin-geun was scared of appeared.
Covered with fear, Jin-geun was frozen in his place while the man attacked and strangled Gye-hoon from behind. On the other hand, Da-hyun, who came back from her investigation, started to feel the mysterious connection of emotions again.
With that, she contacted Gye-hoon and searched for him in panic. She found him unconsciously lying in piles of garbage bags and thought that this might be Jin-geun’s doing again.
In order not to scare Da-hyun and reveal what Jin-geun told him, he lies that Jin-geun was the one who indeed attacked him. Additionally, Da-hyun also kept the memories she regained to herself since she blames herself for not helping Gye-hoon’s sister.
“I have one question I’m dying to ask you two. Well… Did you guys — forget it. I’m too scared to find out the truth.”
Returning home after regaining most of her memories, Da-hyun continues to doubt her mother and grandmother. Ever since she took interest in looking back on her past, Bok-hee and Chun-ok’s reactions show fear and anxiety.
To clear her mind, Da-hyun tries to ask both of them while eating their breakfast. However, she still hasn’t enough courage to find out the truth and left the two with tension.
Moving forward, she gathers all of her courage again and talked with Bok-hee. She finally confessed that regained most of her memories years ago.
Da-hyun then frankly asked her mother if there is something she needs to know that only Bok-hee and Chun-ok know. Bok-hee knew that these words will come from her daughter. She tried her best not to cry and lied to Da-hyun that there is none.
“Are you saying we should just keep it a secret? Are we to play dumb and feign ignorance?”
Furthermore, Da-hyun also challenges herself to reveal to Gye-hoon what happened to her and Gye-young. However, for Gye-hoon, he doesn’t want to force Da-hyun to tell him if it makes her uncomfortable.
Wanting to face the truth, she told him not to turn a blind eye to the facts as she continue to reveal her memories. Fo Gye-hoon to fully understand what happened to them, Da-hyun told him to go to the house with a red gate — which is now painted blue.
After he arrived at the place, he recalled what happened before Gye-young disappeared. As he investigated the basement of the house, he saw the sticker he gave to her sister fixed on the wall, confirming that Gye-young was there.
He also tried to collect information from the current owner of the house, Jo Dong-nan and Yang Dong-sook but he failed to get any leads.
Moreover, Gye-hoon and Da-hyun conversed again about the recent revelations they found. She knows that he is masking his true emotions. With guilt and pain, she wants to break up with him, thinking that this was the best decision for both of them.
“You’ve done enough. Fine. You’re right. Let me go. I did make a promise back in that alley I’m sorry I failed to keep it. I promise never to set foot in Jihwa-dong ever again, okay?”
Going back to Jin-geun, the man who offered him a game console 20 years ago is still controlling his life. Finally in this episode, the man behind Gye-young’s disappearance turns out to be one of the townpeople of Jihwa-dong, Lee Young-hoon.
When Jin-geun disappeared for days after he got involved with the police, Young-hoon threatened him since he might get caught because of Jin-geun. Instead of keeping the promise he made with Young-hoon in the alley, Jin-geun continues to have it on his way and played with Gye-hoon’s feelings with the truth.
However, Young-hoon wasn’t pleased with Jin-geun’s little games, and again, he taught him some lessons. Nonetheless, this time, Young-hoon made sure that Jin-geun will never set foot in Jihwa-dong by ending his life.
On the other hand, Police Officer Hwang Min-joo and the others decided to get the big refrigerator where Da-hyun hid Jin-geun’s body for their office. As Min-joo opened the door, they saw a lifeless body drenched in blood that turns out to be Jin-geun’s.

Link: Eat, Love, Kill pivoting scenes flashes like a blink of an eye in this week’s episodes. Since the series is now at its peak, I’m still in the process of digesting the revelations and sudden shift in Gye-hoon and Da-hyun’s relationship.
Nevertheless, let’s hope that Gye-hoon will be able to share his side of the story and make Da-hyun feel that she shouldn’t blame herself. With their current situation, I believe that this isn’t enough reason for them to deem that they shouldn’t be together.
On another note, I’m still left with many questions if Lee Jin-geun and Lee Young-hoon have any relationship. With Jin-geun’s reaction, he’s really afraid of Young-hoon and it seems that they know each other very well.
Let’s all await in the succeeding episode if Link: Eat, Love, Kill will tell any background story of Jin-geun and Young-hoon. Moreover, let’s root for the drama’s hero and heroine’s love story to be saved.
