Their Character’s Pursuit of Happiness

In the final episode of the drama, Ja Geum-soon passes away, and her family pursues their own happiness. Imagining how Chairwoman Ja’s family seeks their own happiness, the drama’s stars describe how their characters will do so.

Actor Kang Ha Neul envisions Jae-heon continuing acting while wondering about Se-gyu’s determination on acting.

“I think Jae-heon will be auditioning for his work and eating dinner from Se-yeon. I wonder if Se-gyu (played by Choi Dae Hoon) would have given up on acting…”

On the other hand, actress Ha Ji Won imagines Se-yeon maintaining her peace of mind while running the hotel and spending time with her beloved family.

“I think Se-yeon will work hard at hotel management with great attachment. I also felt the importance of her family, so I think she will spend a lot of time with them. She does what she can be the happiest with and it puts her mind at ease a little because she seems to be doing just fine.”

“Yoon-hee is living her life hard abroad, and I think she might be looking for another Jae-heon and lecturing him.”

Looking forward to his character having a warm life in the future, actor Noh Sang Hyun describes what kind of life Moon-seong will have in South Korea after being naturalized as necessary in his grandmother’s will.

“I think Moon-seong will come back to South Korea, eat tteokbokki with his new family…and have a snowball fight. He seems to be smiling broadly in abundance and waiting for the spring day to come.”

Affection for their Characters

Finding his similarities with Jae-heon, Kang Ha Neul sees himself remembering his character the next time he performs on a theater stage.

“Jae-heon is like me, from the way he likes and admires the theater stage to the way he always thinks positively. I think I will think of Jae-heon again the next time I have a role in a play.”

Meanwhile, actress Ha Ji Won admits she had a lot of affection for her character, making it difficult for her to part ways with it.

“…Thanks to Se-yeon, it was fun to wear many pretty clothes and run a hotel. I think I’m wondering if she’s doing well now because she’s suffered so much. I hope she will be remembered for a long time.”

Through her character, actress Jung Ji So appreciates what mindset she gained with the encouragement of her role Seo Yoon-hee brought.

“Seo Yoon-hee seems to have permeated a lot of my youth. Yoon-hee was more precious and prouder because she was faithful to reality…I was always able to have a new mindset thanks to encouragement.”

Acknowledging what his character has been through, Noh Sang Hyun leaves Moon-seong with an encouraging message.

“Moon-seong, you’ve been through a lot. I’m sure your future will be bright. I support your happiness.”
