When a potent new recreational drug begins spreading throughout Seoul’s liveliest venues, an undercover officer will infiltrate the gang responsible in The Worst of Evil – a thrilling new crime drama coming September 27, exclusively on Disney+.
In 1990s Seoul, a former DJ seized control of a gang and began pushing a popular new drug nicknamed “Gangnam Crystal” in the city’s nightclubs. With little known about its source, a rural officer is recruited into an undercover police unit and is tasked with infiltrating the gang to bring it down from the inside.
Forced to keep his new assignment a secret from everyone, Officer Park Jun-mo is stunned to discover his wife and fellow officer Yu Eui-jeong has volunteered for the same assignment and that she has a mysterious past with the city’s new drug lord. Torn between his dedication to his job and his need to keep his wife safe, Jun-mo’s actions will keep viewers on the edge of their seats throughout.
“The Worst of Evil” Introduces Lead Stars In Cinematic Character Posters
Following the cinematic posters, character stills of Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Jun and Lim Se Mi were revealed.
First, the strong presence of Ji Chang Wook as Junmo who embarks on a dangerous infiltration to take down the Korea-China-Japan drug cartel, draws attention. A former rural detective, he is a character who jumps into an undercover operation that risks his life in order to achieve the success and recognition he has never had in his life.
In the released stills, you can get a glimpse of the character’s excellent observation skills, quickness, and relentless persistence, from grabbing Gangnam Alliance boss Wi Ha Jun (Gi-cheol) by the collar to investigating the truth of the incident.
Next, Wi Ha Jun, the boss of the Gangnam Alliance, which is at the center of Asia’s largest drug trade, is a person who will do anything to overcome the pain of the past and gain greater power and success.
The released stills show both the heavy charisma that seems to strengthen the resolve in a tense scene and the intense confrontation with Ji Chang Wook who came to the Gangnam Union office, adding to curiosity about what happened between them.
Lastly, Lim Se Mi (Uijeong), who will show both sharpness and warmth at the same time, focuses the attention of viewers by showing the charms of her character.
