Insider

An Energizing Underdog Story

Expounding on the projected narrative of Insider, PD Min conveyed the series having a comprehensive genre as it blends gambling, action and conspiracy among people with huge powers.

“It is a story that shows how people who are used and abandoned by strong people take revenge and denounce the world.”

Taking pride in his work, he assured a synthesized story powered by a remarkable cast.

“You might think it’s dark and heavy, but the characters in it are interesting. Having a combination of actors with strong acting skills is a secondary charm. Because the material and background had to be realistic, the action scenes were painstakingly filmed, and the gambling scene was also carefully shot.”

Kang Ha Neul’s New Acting Challenge

Relaying how he was drawn on the script of Insider, the actor affirms it was the deciding point for him. He also vouched for its interesting and riveting story.

As the focal character in the series, Kang Ha Neul portrays Kim Yo-han. He describes him as a passionate man who does not show his heart well. That is because the setbacks in his life pushed him to become cold.

To immerse into Yo-han’s emotions, the actor focused on making the viewers empathize with him.

Lee Yoo Young’s Unique Character

Portraying Oh Soo-yeon, a businesswoman in the dark is actress Lee Yoo Young (Tunnel). Echoing Kang’s amazement about the script, she gives a peek at what to expect in her character.

“When I first read the script, I was curious about what a woman was doing. But the more I looked at it, the more I felt that she is a wonderful woman and that she does a lot of work. She is a businesswoman in the shadows who has lived her life while accumulating tremendous power and wealth.”

In the drama, Soo-yeon evokes vibrant charms. After 20 years of sharpening the blade of revenge, she has a strong inner poison that is definitely lethal.

Heo Sung Tae’s New Villain Flavor

Probably one of the actors that can clinch numerous villain roles without making the viewers complain, Heo Sung Tae preps for another exciting character.

Revealing the reason why he chose Insider, he deems he is apt for the role.

“There was a part where I could challenge myself in terms of acting, so I decided to work together. It was a scenario where there was no need to give a lot of strength or intentionally try to appear evil. Thus, there was a part that was clearly different from the villains I’ve done so far.”

Kim Sang Ho Praises Kang Ha Neul’s Acting

Well-loved character actor Kim Sang Ho also spoke about how his role as Mok Jin-hyung felt like a regular office worker.

“If you look at Mok Jin-hyung, I think you will be able to find comfort in a work like a storm.”

Jin-hyung is a field-type prosecutor who made Kim Yo-han an ‘insider’ to fight the gambling cartel. Kim Sang-ho drew attention by lauding Kang’s immersive acting.

“There’s no way you can’t feel the pressure with an actor like that. We had a happy time while working together.”

On The Kind of Life One Has To Take

PD Min expressed initial worry about the strong presence of the lead actors.

“There are times when I have to show my presence. Harmonizing was done because the actors were all considerate. I was able to do it well because they are actors who had the ability to take care of the other person while carrying their own things.”

Hoping to get an evaluation of an interesting drama, PD Min profoundly gives the message the story wants to impart.

“After watching the drama, ask yourself the question of how you will live your own life. It would be great if you could live wisely in the future with that realization.”

Insider will be broadcast for the first time at 10:30 pm tonight on JTBC!
