Two Type of Joseon Matchmaking
Garbed in stylish Joseon hanboks, Jung-woo and Seon-deok draw attention with the teaser poster in the concept of “princess and miner recruitment” notice.
First, Shim Jung-woo, who showed off his brightness in a purple scroll, matched it with a hat strap made of bamboo as a key point, giving off the upright and principled Joseon scholar. In particular, his eyes brightly shine, and at the same time, he strikes a resolute pose with a fan decorated with blue and red thread accessories, showing him the ‘will to succeed in palace calligraphy’.
In addition, Jung-woo’s unique history of not being able to marry and his specialty in ‘filing marriage annulment appeals’ are written, raising curiosity about the ‘performance-oriented’ matchmaking that Jung-woo will lead in the future.
Next, Seon-deok her second character Yeo Joo-daek, was adorned with colorful accessories, red lips, and clear eyes. She reveals her confident eyes and expression as she piles up fortune telling boxes in front of her like a true blue “goddess of matchmaking”.
The production team said, “The character teaser poster was created so that the unique characters of Shim Jung-woo and Jung Seon-deok, who are in charge of the wedding matchmaking of the Joseon Dynasty virgins and miners, can be clearly summarized and seen at a glance.”
KBS2 TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama The Matchmakers premieres on October 30.
