TVING confirms new original series, A Week Before I Died, incorporating youth, fantasy and romance in the story.
A Week Before I Die tells the story of a twenty-four-year-old woman who lives aimlessly with no motivation for life. Then she meets her childhood friend and first love who appears as a Grim Reaper, and they set to fulfill a bucket list.
The series depicts a youth fantasy romance of two people who meet again a week before the woman’s death. They face secrets they didn’t know about in high school, and find the meaning of life and love.
In the play, Gong Myung plays the role of Kim Ram-woo, a grim reaper who appears to Hee-wan six years after his death. He shakes up her lethargic daily life by completing an extraordinary bucket list item for a week.
Gong Myung, who has been active on TV and on big screens in the dramas Lovers of the Red Sky, Be Melodramatic; and movies Killing Romance, and Extreme Job, appears in A Week Before I Died. Hiding his feelings for his first love, he attempts to transform into the role of the Grim Reaper who accompanies Hee-wan.
Kim Min Ha was selected to play the role of Jung Hee-wan, who lost her smile and wasted her youth before facing death. Kim Min-ha, who left a deep impression as the protagonist of Apple TV+’s Pachinko, plans to show a wide range of emotions in A Week Before I Died through the character Hee-wan, who goes back and forth between an innocent and mischievous high school girl and a helpless twenty-four-year-old youth.
A Week Before I Die is CJ ENM’s first OTT series. Director Noh Deok, who directed the film Temperature of Love and the series Glitch, served as the creator and director Choi Hana served as the director.

TVING’s original series A Week Before I Die will be released in 2025.
