Lu Miao and Haoyue’s friendship withstands all circumstances. Haoyue knows that Miao struggles with academics.
Still, he did not give up on her, believing that she can surpass her limits. Even though Miao has no luck by her side, Haoyue becomes her lucky charm and helps her be brave and confident.

On the other hand, Shi Che and Guoguo’s dreams tested their friendship. The two also grew up together, having the same passion.

Jiang Haoyue grew up in a toxic and desolated environment. At a very young age, his future and choice narrow down because of his disability.
His mother left him and his father and started a new life away from them. On the other hand, his father’s addiction to gambling and alcohol worsen since his wife left.
Also, Haoyue is bullied for his disability and hated himself for not having the power to protect his loved ones. Lu Miao’s family is also on the verge of collapsing, but these challenges strengthen their relationship as a family.
Nevertheless, the series gives a new light on these issues and reminds us that these can’t define a person’s life. Like Haoyue, many youths experience discrimination but proven themselves they belong in society with their achievements.

From its title, “flourishing,” every character in the series has grown and develops. From being dependent on Haoyue, Miao learned to be independent and started to make choices by herself.
Like Miao, many audiences relate to her when it comes to studying and planning for the future. But her character reminds us to enjoy our youth and have someone we can lean on.
On the other hand, Jiang Haoyue finally moves on and respected the decision her mother made. He also finally realize and see how much his father loves him.
Even though he failed as a husband, he never left Haoyue and strengthens him to overcome challenges. With that, Haoyue’s father also made a drastic change.
Lu Miao’s father and Haoyue believe that it is not too late for him to change. Through all of his shortcomings, Haoyue still chooses him over his mother.
Moreover, Haoyue’s love for him calms his raging heart and wakes him to start a new life.
Flourish In Time Series Musings
Flourish In Time has a feel-good but heartfelt story. Nowadays, most drama series focuses on romantic stories. The series pauses from romance and delivers a story that heals its audiences.
Ancy Deng’s portrayal as Lu Miao made a lasting impression because of her bright and infectious personality. She also delivered a hair-raising performance at one of the episodes that taken me aback.
Not to mention the amazing performances of Ella Liu and Yuan Jin Hui as the young lead characters. I love how the series tells the adorable beginning of Lu Miao and Haouyue’s friendship that plays a huge part in their character development.
Furthermore, the series left me with a warm and comforting feeling. Set in Lu Miao’s high school years, it takes its audience back to our daily lives.
It also stresses out the importance of having someone by our side until the darkest times become a blessing one can have.
Reminding us to enjoy our youth, it points out that there are also dark days ahead of us.
Overall, Flourish In Time is a refreshing youth that pivots about growth and trust. Every character was given their spotlight and was able to tell their stories.
I love to see them grow and find someone with who they can rely on and pour their love. For those who feel down, the series will surely bring smiles and will make you cry at the same time.
