A Good Day To Be A Dog Opening Week Story
Cursed to become a dog if a man kissed her, Han Hae-na (Park Gyu Young) faces a predicament when she drunkenly kisses her co-teacher Jin Seo-won (Cha Eun Woo). She meant to kiss another co-teacher Lee Bo-gyeom (Lee Hyun Woo).
The accidental kiss led to her chasing for another kiss in her dog persona. Within 100 days, she has to do it or she will become a dog permanently. Her dog life is from 12 midnight to 6 am.
Executing her plan, she diligently tries to ask Seo-won to eat and drink. However, on her first attempt, she discovers that he is seriously afraid of dogs. Thus, making her plan even harder.
Seo-won thinks that Hae-na wants him to become the middleman since he is friends with Bo-gyeom with the recent interaction she has with him.
Seeking another chance to reverse the curse, they went to play in an escape room. After that, Hae-na tried to ask Seo-won to join them for a drink. No matter how persistent she was, he declined her request. It made Hae-na open up what she overheard the other time about him feeling uncomfortable when she was around. He tries to explain but after lashing out, she leaves him.
Later, she got a message that her co-teachers went for a drink and she thinks that Seo-won joined them because she’s not there.
“Everyone has their own story and we can all have secrets we can keep in our hearts.”
Sharing her story with her sister and brother-in-law, the latter mentions how Hae-na is loved by neighborhood dogs. She realizes that all those times she bought something with Seo-won and he just disappeared without a trace, were because of dogs going in her direction. He’s so scared of dogs; however, dogs are drawn to her.
The next day, she tells one of the dogs who approached her not to do that anymore. On her way to school, her students also alert her that male students from the nearby school are smoking.
Hae-na softly reprimands them but the disrespectful students have no fear of disrespecting her. Thankfully, Seo-won arrives to save the day. Knowing she was shaken by the incident; he also talks to her in their vacant time to give comfort.
They clarify things and, in a flashback, Seo-won can’t convey his fear of dogs because of an event from his past where he seemed to have been bullied and scared by a dog. Hae-na reassures him that she understands his situation and it’s okay not to tell her things that would be hard for him to confess.
At night, Hae-na receives a phone call as Choi Yul, her student is at the police station after being engaged in a brawl. Yul bumps into the bullies who were earlier reprimanded by Hae-na. Forgetting the time after speaking with the police and the rude mother of the bully, Hae-na rushes to leave Yul as she will transform anytime.
But Yul who got her phone back which got dropped inside a road drainage chases after her and sees her transform right into his eyes. Without being able to communicate, he brings her home to his place where he lives with his uncle.
Taking the opportunity to sneak out once Yul fell asleep, Hae-na’s intention to open the door was futile. So, she gives up and decides to wait for 6 AM.
In the morning, she woke up first but as she dresses up, Yul’s uncle checks on his nephew and Hae-na meets Seo-won eyes.
