These group comebacks are the perfect soundtracks to your new normal summer.

August gave us a lot. From long-awaited group comebacks to unexpected summer bops, it surely delivered new songs to add to our playlists. I compiled this list to make sure everyone didn’t miss a single comeback this month.

Disclaimer: Do note that some artists here are new and fresh for me. I might have different opinions or am not educated enough about the artist yet. Nevertheless, let’s discover what August gifted us for the past 31 days.

Boy Groups

  • Hyped Up Dance Party

BTS- Dynamite

BTS’ first full English track is all around groovy and funky. It’s perfect for your summer dance party. It’s surely a ‘disco overload’ and we’re all into it. Another fun and dynamic track from one of K-Pop’s greatest groups.

1TEAM- ULLAELI KKOLLAELI

I enjoyed this music video so much. The music video is nothing but interesting. Their energetic aura paired with incredible visuals painted the perfect summer rock party anthem. 1TEAM used a concept that works for them that displayed their visuals well. Yes, I can’t shut up about their visuals because it’s that good.

Treasure- BOY

Shh, Treasure. Can I just say outright, their vocals are amazing. The music video displayed their individual personalities. The synth beat drop made the track subtly sentimental with an energetic aura. This dynamic debut certainly made them a group to look out for.

ENOi – W.A.Y Where Are You

It sounds so high quality! Even if it’s electronic, it made me dance in my seat. ENOi’s dynamic track gives strong dance music vibes. It hypes up the listener in an energetic way.

DUSTIN-ON ft. MIN_A- [0:YOUNG]

This group is a diamond in the rough and this sub-unit proves it. Their great use of auto-tune features their creativity. Don’t underestimate the catchy chorus in this hot, summer track. The rap verse is a part to look out for as well.

ATEEZ – THANXX

Starting off with a hot guitar riff and a strong rap verse, the catchy chorus is a certain LSS. Acting as school misfits up for some mischief, these bad boys in school gave us a 10/10 bop. This comeback is so good and they owned it! ATEEZ is a group that keeps on giving, surpassing expectations along the way.

OnlyOneOf – A song of ice and fire

I just discovered them when compiling this list but this hot release is one for the books. Their smooth vocals are so satisfying. Try not to crush on their talent. I like this track so much. I’ve only seen one of their songs but I want to stan them immediately.

  • Powerful Soundtracks

Super M- 100

100 is a legendary track with a strong dance music theme. Surely expectations were met in this release. The boys gave their best in this song. Additionally, the highlight bridge is so addicting! They owned this song and went all out in this comeback.

ONF- Sukhumvit Swimming

https://youtu.be/6d33R5QPIXI

‘Sukhumvit Swimming’ is a head-bop worthy song just from the first few beats. Its western visuals coupled with a chill hype energy blended so well. The clever use of a trumpet sound as a beat drop is fun and fresh, perfect for this youthful group.

Dongkiz- Beautiful

Another western-inspired track graces our list today. Dongkiz painted an intense atmosphere with their hauntingly beautiful concept. Their powerful aura is on full display. can I just say, the high note on this song is so heavenly

MCND- nanana

I’m gonna warn you, this song is dangerously addictive. From powerful vocals to solid, spitfire bars, this group has everything. Rocking the youthful, futuristic concept, MCND defied expectations with this track.

ONEUS – To Be or Not To Be

Majestic, the first word that came into mind when I watched the music video. This emotional but strong track is a great mix of pop, electronic, and hip-hop. The mysteriously dark concept is perfectly portrayed in the music video. ONEUS gave us a satisfying blend of vocals nonetheless. This sets the bar for their future releases.

Cravity – Flame

I’m gonna call it, Cravity is a boy group to watch out for. They started with a room for a build-up and they didn’t disappoint The smooth vocals and strong rapping starts low, develops into a high, and stayed there. This dynamic track plays with ups and downs like a flame.

  • Fresh Sentimental Energetics

Seven O’clock- Hey There

I have a feeling the Seven O’clock lads are cool, laid back guys. This easy-listening track focused on vocals displaying an air of maturity. The track itself is perfect for your nostalgic youth daydreaming.

1THE9 – Count

I’m not crying, you are. This sentimental and emotional track is a true tearjerker to fans. Serving as their final title track before disbandment, 1THE9 tells us to always count memories as they also count 1 to 9. This talented group will surely be missed. BRB gonna cry.

D1CE – One Summer

Their vocals gave me legit chills. This fresh, summer track, features their underrated vocals, and rap. These cute boys next door gave us a great track for chilling and hanging out. Plus maybe, just maybe, I’m crushing on their blue-haired rapper.

Girl Groups

  • Cute and Fresh

Blackpink ft. Selena Gomez- Ice Cream

Ice Cream, excuse me, you mean the ultimate summer LSS right? These girls made me sing along right as the second chorus hit. It’s so different from Blackpink’s usual strong tracks. Lisa’s rap verse and Rose’s vocals served as twin cherries on top of this fresh summer anthem.

SATURDAY- DBDBDIB

If you’re looking for a refreshing summer track, this one is for you. They feel like distant cousins of Crayon Pop and Orange Caramel, mixing in their quirks in the MV. They maintained their cute energy without being overly cringy.

Rocket Punch- Juicy

Juicy is an addition to the sweet and fresh summer comebacks. Rocket Punch gives us a charming and fun song, bringing out the dancer in every listener.

Maka Maka- Burning Power

Maka Maka’s debut track is a cool, road trip song perfect for those long drives. Painting a youthful picture, this bop is energetic and fun in its own right.

Cherry Bullet- Aloha Oe

The music video displays the signature Cherry Bullet visual and energy. They turned a classic Hawaiian song into a trendy and happy track for this year’s summer comeback.

A-Real – Wake Me Up

A-Real’s debut track is like a full glass of ice-cold soda. It literally wakes you up with its electro-pop synth. I have a feeling they would be your next summer girl crush.

Oh My Girl x Pororo- Supadupa

This is probably the cutest song on this list. The innocent and playful melody is the perfect pair for this collab with Pororo. It proves how Oh My Girl is a versatile and dynamic girl group. Supadupa is perfect for young K-Pop fans.

  • Femme Fatale

ITZY- Not Shy

ITZY’s self-love concept will never get old. These girls serve as banks of confidence for their fans and Not Shy proves it. Their latest track is catchy and empowering as expected from this girl crush group.

(G)I-DLE- DUMDi DUMDi

(G)I-DLE gives us a fresh summer track from their repertoire. It’s noticeably different from their previous releases like ‘Oh My God’ and ‘HANN’. This just proves that they are not only masters of strong songs but summer bops as well.

Dreamcatcher- BOCA

One of the majorly underrated K-Pop girl groups in this decade. They seriously kill every comeback with unique concepts coupled with stunning vocals and visuals. This powerful girl crush anthem proves that girls can do rock too.

Brave Girls – We Ride

Brave Girls’ latest release is a funky, retro vibe track. It’s perfect for late-night drives. Their satisfying vocals proves how underrated they are. We Ride is a song that fits their talent like a snug puzzle piece. I like this track so much.

Co-ed Group

KARD- GUNSHOT

BM was not tripping when he said that this was KARD’s strongest comeback yet. Their intense visuals hit me like a gunshot. Somin and Jiwoo’s vocals contributed to my last song syndrome. BM and J.Seph’s rap verse resonates deep into me. It’s good, it’s intense, I have nothing more to say. Stan KARD.

In conclusion, the month of August gave us a variety of music from powerful comeback to hype up dance tracks. There is one thing for sure: the next month will be even crazier.
