Cha Eun Woo Talks About His Fondness For “Island” and Career Goals He Wants To Achieve

Singer-actor Cha Eun Woo conveys his love for acting, his personal dreams and working on Island.

Island Part 2 continues the exciting story about the journey of people destined to fight against evil trying to destroy the world.

Portraying Johan, Vatican’s youngest exorcist, Cha Eun Woo impressed K-Drama fans with his acting transformation in the fantasy-action series.

Gracing an interview for the release of Island Part 2, Cha beamed as he talked about the global popularity of Island.

“It feels good and I feel grateful to hear that the response is good overseas. Anyway, it seems that there is another taste of Korea given by the special space of Jeju Island. Since it is a fantasy action, it seems that people like it in terms of genre.”

When asked about the reaction of people close to him, he responds that he took a proof shot that his younger brother watched and enjoyed it. He also mentions that his colleagues commented on how he looks comfortable in the role.

In the case of the Astro members, they unitedly agreed that it was easy to watch Island than his previous romance dramas.

An Eventful Career For Cha Eun Woo

Debuted in the 2014 film, My Brilliant Life, Cha Eun Woo is approaching his 10th debut anniversary year. Feeling nostalgic, he recounts the blessings and experiences of his career so far.

“Looking back, I think I did a lot of activities. It was difficult and I was so busy. I think that I am able to be where I am today because I have been working so hard. I am grateful and proud. It is amazing. When I debuted, I was amazed to see my seniors who were 7 or 8 years old, but now that I have become that way, I do not feel it. It’s like that.”

Regarding his thoughts about balancing his acting which most of the time can be overlooked by his handsome appearance, Cha smartly replies how he did his best to the opportunities he had. He is keen on working on his career as an actor.

When asked when he felt rewarded while acting, Cha genuinely responds receiving praise from the cast and crew melts his heart.

“I think the most rewarding thing is when I do a scene that I was so worried about and felt was not easy, and the director and colleagues say I did well. It was rewarding when you shed tears together.”

On that note, he also asserts enjoying work helps him overcome concerns.

“If you say difficult, is it physically difficult? It’s not that difficult because it’s only for a moment. There are times when I have a lot of worries, but I think having fun is the best thing.”

With regard to his acting goals, he really wants to be in a progressive state.

“I don’t think there is a certain point, but if I do well every day what I need to do now, I think it will work out later. I hope that many people will watch Island Part 2. I’m trying to build up my acting journey one step at a time.”

As one of the most popular multi-hyphenated artists, he profoundly aspires to share his talents as gift to people supporting him. He fondly speaks how fun gaining experiences in different entertainment fields.

“Because it’s a field of expression and delivery, it helps me a lot organically. I’m enjoying everything. I want to be a person who can do more than what I’ve been given.”
