If you haven’t got a date lined up this Valentine’s Day, or are looking for a simple stay-home date idea with bae, fret not! Viu is here to take the lead, as it brings a rollercoaster ride of romance, comedy and action with an exciting lineup of shows in February.
In case you missed it, Kokdu Season of Deity recently launched promising an engaging love story in the backdrop of chimeric elements and Korean folklore. It stars Kim Jung Hyun as a grim reaper, and Im Soo Hyang as a doctor with a mysterious ability. Watch as they set hearts aflutter with their chemistry and captivating love story that spans across time.
Skip the romance entirely, and deep-dive into some bromance with Jung Yong Hwa and Cha Tae Hyun in Brain Works. They star as cold, level-headed neuroscientist and kind-hearted but gruff detective, respectively. They are forced to work together to solve crime cases involving the brain.
If you haven’t already started, it’s not too late to catch Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2. The series continues to dominate the ratings in its second run, and sees the adventures of Yoo Se-poong (Kim Min-jae), Seo Eun-woo (Kim Hyang-gi) and Gye Ji-Han (Kim Sang-kyung) continue in the streets and palaces of Hanyang, the capital of South Korea’s Joseon dynasty.
Now, here are two new series coming on Viu this February!
The Heavenly Idol
Highly-anticipated fantasy rom-com The Heavenly Idol stars Kim Min-kyu in his last K-drama before his enlistment.
Adapted from a popular web novel, he stars as a high priest who comes to earth to fight the demon king, but awakens in the body of an unknown K-pop idol instead.
Taxi Driver 2
Come 17 February, Lee Je Hoon reprises his role as Kim Do-ki, an ex-special force agent turned taxi driver. However, he’s not just any taxi driver – at Rainbow Taxi, he takes revenge on behalf of victims who failed to be protected by the law.
The Viu Original Taxi Driver 2 will also see Kim Eui-sung return as Jang Sung-cheol, the leader of the Rainbow Taxi team, along with new addition Shin Jae-ha as On Ha-joon, a new and innocent driver at Rainbow Taxi.
