Portraying the maverick K-Drama hero Kim Do-ki, a taxi driver specializing in hunting villains who perpetrate unimaginable crimes against the weak and powerless victims, Lee Je Hoon impressed viewers with his portrayal along with the action scenes and immersive moments.
Currently concentrating on filming Taxi Driver 2, the actor prepares to meet the viewers again. He also expressed fondness for working on the series.
“This drama, which was an unconventional and new attempt, was broadcast every week, and people talked about it. I think I was able to feel the popularity. It felt so good to be able to play a refreshing role that gives viewers exhilaration through resolving an episode that was adapted from an actual incident, and I was just grateful for the love I received.”
Confessing he did not anticipate the second-season production; Lee hoped the inspiring messages to continue.
“As the drama aired every episode, I thought there are many really bad people in the world who need to be punished and that there are many accidents that we need to know about. I hoped that this story would continue to be written because I thought that I could deliver messages to people through this drama and give them fun and meaning. I am very moved to be able to meet viewers like this for the first time in a while.”
Adorably, he also quips he would be disappointed not getting an offer for the sequel. He promises an upgraded version that viewers can anticipate

On What To Expect In Taxi Driver 2
Providing a sneak preview of what’s in store in the next season, Lee Je Hoon vouched for an elevated performance of Kim Do-ki.
“Taxi Driver 2 is going to feature more colorful characters than in season 1, so I thought a lot about how to express each character. Since the characters have so much personality, I paid a lot of attention to interpreting each character by giving my own opinion not only in acting, but also hair, costumes, and props. In season 1, I think the popular character was Wang Tao Zi. Please look forward to seeing it again.
Regarding the synergy of the lead cast, he expressed gratitude for the superb teamwork of Rainbow Taxi team which literally resembles a family.
“Our team chatroom was created at the beginning of season 1, and it has been going on ever since. Now I feel a lot like a comfortable family. That’s why I think it’s the most fun, happy, and healing time when the Rainbow team members are together rather than when I’m filming alone. They are very reassuring and grateful beings.”
Finally, Lee Je Hoon invites viewers and reveals the charming points to expect in the series he personally picked.
“In addition to the passionate but sensible revenge stories in Taxi Driver 2, there’s more to see. While filming, the scale became surprisingly large. As much as the scale has grown, I have tried to capture as many interesting characters and colorful episodes as well for viewers to enjoy. I will show you good work that will not disappoint as you have waited for a long time. So, please look forward to it.”
