Based on an original novel with the same name, the drama depicts the story of people who heal from emotional hurt and learn to become family to others at a cafe called “Finland Papa”.
Finland Papa is a 6-episode healing romance drama starring Kim Bo Ra (Touch, Her Private Life, SKY Castle) and Kim Woo Seok (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, Twenty-Twenty).
Viewers can look forward to a relatable story that touches on the topic of unconventional families, which is highly relevant in today’s world, as well as the detailed emotional
acting and the chemistry between the two young leads.
The series is produced by K-Dragon, the same production house behind the fan-favorite time-and-space fantasy series Café Midnight.
Meet The Lead Pair of Finland Papa
In the drama, Lee Yu-ri (Kim Bo Ra) is an ordinary girl in her twenties who is left alone to fend for herself, after the death of her family. She takes up a part-time job at a cafe called “Finland Papa”, after seeing that meals are provided with the job.
Yu-ri is a lonely youth who is left all alone after her family members left and died. She becomes a member of the fake family. By practicing how to become family to the other staff,
Yu-ri learns to heal her inner wounds and grows up.
While searching for the identity of the café owner who does not appear at the café, and whose face is unknown, she discovers the existence of her first love.
Baek Woo-hyun (Kim Woo Seok) is the faceless owner of the café “Finland Papa”. Having experienced a painful past, he started the café as a sanctuary for people who have also had their lives ruined by their families and trains them to become family to each other.
He selects people who like him, are hurt by their families, as employees and gives them roles as members of a family. Through creating a fake family, he provides the opportunity for individuals to heal their wounds.
One day, his first love Yu-ri appears at the café, but due to a heartbreaking reason, Woo-hyun has no choice but to hide from her.
