The Impossible Heir Opening Week Story + Musings
Realizing early how life can be so cruel, Han Tae-oh (Lee Jae Wook) decided to bolster himself up to protect himself and his mother. He meets Kang In-ha, the illegitimate third son of Kang Oh Group, a huge conglomerate company.
As both share father issues, they agree to embark on a premeditated plan to reach the top of the societal hierarchy. They also share a connection with Na Hye-won (Hong Su-zu) who also harbors ambition wanting to end her tiring poor life made more problematic by her worthless mother.
In-ha has two older brothers, a sister and a scheming step-mother who does not want him to be accepted in the family.
Through Tae-oh’s smarts, they begin to move their chess pieces by suggesting a corporate plan which Tae-oh’s professor picks on and recommends to In-ha’s second elder brother Kang Sung-ju. Five years later, Tae-oh and In-aha penetrated Kang Oh Group and their journey officially started after their thorough preparation.
Modestly mounting its story, The Impossible Heir highlights flawed yet exceptionally driven characters. Interestingly their dynamic relationship foresees ups and downs as they claim their respective end games.
The opening week elaborates on the main characters’ motivations and relationships. Whether they can pull off the conceived plan or if there will be mishaps along the way would be what viewers can look forward to.
That being said, we can look forward to how Tae-oh and In-ha maneuver their moves toward the risky goal they are bent to fulfill.
