K-Travel: The Scenic Cliff Featured In “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” Is In Gyeongju

The nearest point to reach the cliff is through Jusaam Hermitage which is situated on Mt. Obongsan, Gyeongju, South Jeolla province.

Called Obongsan cliff, the stunning landscape of Mt. Obongsan was captured in the first episode of Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist.

In the drama, Kim Min-jae portrays Yoo Se-yeob, a genius acupuncturist who fell from grace after wicked people connive to remove him from his post.

On the brink of taking his own life by jumping from a cliff, Lady Seo Eun-woo (Kim Hyang Gi) halted his plan with an encouraging message.

Korean Temple Guide shared the direction to Jusaam Hermitage which is the fastest route to get to the cliff. The ride will take about 30 minutes, and it’ll cost you around 15,000 won (one way).

  • Board Bus #704 heading towards Ahwa from Gyeongju Intercity Bus Terminal
  • After 18 stops, get off at Ahwa Intercity Bus Terminal
  • Take a taxi to Jusaam Hermitage

While at Gyeongju, take advantage of its majestic mountains, beautiful valleys, and breathtaking views.

More importantly, visit the historic sites abounding in the historic area.

Visit Korea stated that Gyeongju Historic Area was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in November 2000. It is an area that embodies the time-honored history and culture of Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC-AD 935).
