From being the best senior mentor, Kang Ki Young continues to maximize his character’s charm with his scene-stealing moments and adlibs in Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
The well-loved series on ENA channel has been creating unprecedented viewership success. Every episode the series has been notching impressive new records domestically and on global streaming platform, Netflix.
Adding charm to the series is Lawyer Jung Myung-seok, a 14-year lawyer at Hanbada, portrayed by Kang Ki Young. His character also leaves an inspiring impression, especially to people who are seniors at work.
In particular, in the first episode, he showed how a true adult should behave by recognizing his mistake. He vocally appreciated Young-woo for her ability and praised her for doing a great job.
Notably, he acts as a strong shield for new lawyers while giving sound pieces of advice on how they maneuver their careers.
In the episode when the North Korean defector case caused money loss for Hanbada, Lawyer Jung reassures his juniors to work as they planned and owned the oversight. He educated the young lawyers to always treat every case with utmost diligence regardless of its worth.

Interestingly, Lawyer Jung has been throwing adlibs in the story such as his dry reply of “it’s very fun” to Woo Young-woo’s adorable self-introduction.
As the story progresses, he has created connections with his junior lawyers. Another interesting adlib he threw was the “whoa whoa” line he taught Young-woo, which she has also used to subdue their raging client in the 6th episode.
In episode 8, Yeong-woo comes up with a flashing clue in the middle of the night and immediately calls Myeong-seok. In his sleepy state, he funnily reminds his junior that “birds, baby sheep, and Myeongseok” sleep at 3 AM.
Adding sensible adlibs that are not in the script, Kang Ki Young adds delightful points to the series.
